  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Attention Signs you're getting old.

Change a couple of gender words and this song becomes spot on
"When it takes you all night to do what you used to do all night"
I wonder what that is refering to.

But in the nighttime...I will sometimes still imagine that I can remain upright because sitting down is too much work.
For me, it's almost as difficult sitting down as it is getting back up. All sorts of balancing going on as well as pushing against the toilets set and pulling on the sink. I'm not looking forward to the day that I can't get back up again.

Gotta do some squats. No weights needed. Just hold onto the kitchen counter and squat and stand up a few times. Every morning while the coffee is brewing.

I get this way after Winter when I've sat on my ass for a few months.

And hey, remember when you were 20 or so and could just stand up from sitting cross legged on the floor?
Yeah, let's gloss over almost fainting way back when we had low BP. :)

Friend, you are new here, and that is great, but you're giving bad counsel here. Neil (GSDX) had bad falls a couple of years ago, breaking hips or femurs, and being on a walker, perhaps still. It was all on the forum, so isn't some private matter, else I wouldn't be posting it.

It would likely be dangerous for Neil to do the exercises you're recommending. Another fall would be quite serious.

You were taught good citizenship in school.

You remember your grandparents saving Monkey Ward catalogues and what they were good for.
