Sildenafil as I understand it is the generic for Viagra. I can get 10 20mg Sildenafil pills for $8.00. With a prescription.
Buying it name brand would get me 2 25mg pills for $40.

This is a mail order pharmacy and it issues this warning:
Sildenafil citrate 20mg tablets CANNOT be substituted for any Rx written for Viagra.
If your Rx is NOT written for Revatio or sildenafil citrate 20mg tablets, DO NOT purchase this drug.

Are these the same except for dosage? I will of course talk this over with my dr. the next time I see him.
Could a person( if it is the same drug) take 2 20mg. of the generic? Or maybe split a pill and take 30mg?
I have some problems with ED and my insurance doesn't cover this med.

In your shoes, I, who have no medical knowledge whatsoever, would purchase the generic version first and see if it worked for me.

They telling you it is not the same as viagra or the generic form. Where is it coming from? I would be wary. Being ineffective is not the worst thing that can happen from mystery drugs.

Has a different formula I would guess. Same effect as Viagra, just generic.
Sidalifil: https://www.empowerpharmacy.com/drugs/sildenafil-odt.html
Viagra: https://www.empowerpharmacy.com/drugs/viagra-tablets.html

Maybe there is some rule that generic can't be substituted when the name brand is specified. With a different med I had the script written for a named drug and they called the doc to get approval for generic. The mail order pharm may not want to do that for customers so there is the disclaimer.

This is another example of the pharmaceutical game-playing that has been discussed lately in the Healthcare Going Forward thread.

Sildenafil was developed for a specific lung condition. The brand name was Revatio. At some point, they figured out that Revatio would also sustain erections in men. Instead of just offering Revatio for a new medical condition, the company created "the little blue pill", named it "Viagra" and they started selling it for a much higher price than the same drug called Revatio. Because Revatio was released before Viagra, the patent on Revatio expired even though the patent for Viagra is still active. Because of this, you can obtain generic Revatio but you cannot obtain generic Viagra... even though they are the same drug!

The main difference between generic Revatio and Viagra is the dosage. Viagra "little blue pills" are 100mg. Revatio adult dosage is usually 20mg per pill, so it would require several Revatio pills to equal the dosage of a single Viagra.

How interesting and enlightening! Where exactly does kamagra fit? Is that simply sindenafil too?

Pfizer's patents are limited to certain countries. Other countries have had lawsuits that ruled that the company can't patent the same drug under two different brand names which invalidated the patent for Viagra (and Revatio's patent has expired).

India is one of those countries that doesn't recognize a patent for Viagra, so you can buy Viagra under the name Kamagra in India.

Thanks for your info on this, might i ask if a person using this drug and obtaining a firmer erection sooner would achieve orgasm more readily?
Right now it takes forever to get somewhat hard and a frustrating amount of time to 'finish', I know that I can't turn back the clock but I would love to trim an hour off of my alone time.

Weren't you also on an SSRI?

I still am on lexapro, but I was having some problems with erections and delayed ejaculation before I went on it. I never sought medical help as I rarely saw a dr., I go to a hospital clinic now and see a 2nd year resident who presents his diagnoses and treatment (s) to an attending.

I know the Lexapro and perhaps the phenobarbital can cause problems in this area, I guess that I am looking for a way to make the situation better.
Probably being overweight by 30 pounds and a little sedentary as well isn't helping.

Instead of supporting the pharmaceutical industry and the government just buy Stiff Days instead. Google it....it has Sildenafil in it and better than ordering from those out of the country pharmacies.

Another option is to read this site: https://www.fda.gov/Drugs/Resources...ineSafely/MedicationHealthFraud/ucm234539.htm

They list all the supplements that contain Sildenafil . So just see what products has it and then go buy it online.

PS...make sure you do your homework before taking something if you take other medication. You have to make sure it won't interact.
