So I've been hearing this song on the radio for a while now. I never knew who the artist was or what the song was called. Yesterday I turn to VH1 to find the video playing half way through and I loved it. Come the "song info" at the end of the song and to my surprise it says: Silverchair- Straightlines!

First of all... Silverchair!? I haven't heard from them since the 90's... since "Neon Ballroom"! I thought they dissapeared off the face of the earth.
Second of all... their sound changed ALOT! Not only their sound but their look. I mean, the lead singer, Daniel Johns, looks completely different than the "kid" from "Neon Ballroom", "Freakshow" and "Frogstomp"

Anyway if you haven't already done so, check out their music video/song and buy the song (Itunes, Target etc) ... you'll be pleasantly surprised!


 
I love this band. I've been hearing Straight Lines on the radio for some time myself, so I picked the Young Modern album a few days ago, and I love it.
 
I like the album quite a bit. But the artwork is...odd. Those of you with advanced years and long memories might start thinking "Stu-stu-studio..."

The song "Straight Lines" is on my MP3 for running. Its a great song.
 
Glad to hear so many guys like the song. I'm glad they're back and I'm glad they spawned a great single.
 
"Silver Lines" actually came out in the late spring and broke Billboard's Modern Rock Top 25 Chart this summer. Good song.

The still-skinny lead singer is married to Natalie Imbruglia ... who is also back with the downright thrilling "Glorious."

I saw the video for "Straight Lines" on LOGO a couple months ago. I fell for it immediately. And when I found out it was Silverchair I was surprised. I hadn't heard anything or seen a video of theirs in quite some time.

I didn't know the lead singer was married to Natalie Imbruglia. Oh yeah, she does have a new album out. I'll have to check that out. I have the last three.
 
great to see some aussie artists get a mention...Daniel Johns is a genuis..spent some time with the band years ago at the BDO in Perth...he though he was fucked up....;)
 
silverchair is AMaZING!!!!! and their new album is great i bought it for my friend for his bday!!! and daniel johns bulked up and is so much more butch i love it (no longer anerexic.
 
Is that really him? If so, he's no anorexic anymore, good to see him bulk up a bit.
