-walking my dog (which I miss dearly).
-my buttercream scented candle from Yankee Candle [seriously, every home should have one of these].
-making eggs in the morning [the secret to my eggs is coating the pan in olive oil. Adds such a rich flavor to it].
-rubbing my chest hair

Walking the shores of my favorite beach all alone in my thoughts.

Both are heaven.

Sleeping on freshly washed and ironed sheets in a crisply-made bed. Best when linen.

Bare feet on cool stone on a warm summer morning.

The sound of leather-soled shoes on marble palace floors.

Gentle rains at Hanalei Bay.
Falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves.

Being warm and dry inside while it pisses down with freezing rain outside; probably the best way to remind yourself that no matter how bad you think things are for you, there are dozens of little things you should be grateful for.

^ You're getting freezing rain...THERE...now?? I assumed that any kind of freezing weather was very rare in .za? Even if you do get that at all, this seems awfully early in the season.

^I should elaborate.

Er... we Africans don't deal with cold well. Anything less than 10 degrees celsius (like 50F) and we're dying. Bearing in mind we had 30s (close to 100s in fahrenheit) on Sunday and Monday, and today suddenly the bleak midwinter has arrived about a month early.

But it's not proper cold, I know that. We had a guy here from Novartis Pharma in Switzerland for 3 months from January, and it was like -15 (5F) when he left there, so 14 here is still practically suntan weather up north... I'm freezing my nads off, though.
