Back when I was younger and used to occasionally play The Sims I used to think that gay marriage in the game was a bug that developers didn't notice.

True story.

I hated the fact that spouses couldn't be best friends with someone in the neighbourhood without the other spouse going ballistic with jealousy if they even danced with each other. I downloaded a patch for it.

^ Didn't notice that.. Actually I never made a gay couple in the game until I played the third version of the game.
Guess Sims are very jealous...

^ All my couples were gay. I deleted all of the female characters. I used to make clothes and different items for my Sims and even created faces with Michael Shanks, Ben Browder, and a few other of my favourite celebs.

I've never played a Sims game. I have been tempted to get Sims 3. How is the gay scene on it really? Is it all tame, or does it let you get down and dirty?

Lets you make them do some dirty stuff in bed, but as the game is intended for children and teenagers, you won't get to see any explicit content.
Basically all the stuff a straight couple can do, gay couples do as well (except for having children, in which case you'll have to call the adoption service).

It's nice to play it and plan your secondary life with someone in a nice house or dep. :)

I'm playing The Sims 3: Pets on PS3 and I'm finding out that the only time a spouse gets jealous is when they are doing flirty things like holding hands, hugging amorously or kissing. I think even if they are showing like a flirty action that the other spouse will come into the room and watch, or even a family member like a kid from the family will come into the room and feel that you betrayed their trust.

I think the PC version is a lot different since there are people out there who put on a lot of cool mods and so it makes it better to play it on PC.

When I make my Sims I already make them into a married couple and they do all the things like make out in places like the couch, the hot tub, or even the bed. When they WooHoo they just get into their regular clothes lay on the bed and pull the covers on top of them and you just see the bed moving and shaking and then they are in their sleep clothing.

Oh, well, I think I will pass then. Being the dirty bastard that I am, I was hoping that games have entered the 21st century of sexual freedom. I guess I will still have to beg for the real thing.

Considering the game is rated Teen I doubt you're going to get even more dirty. That's why it's better to play on PC. People create penises, they create all sorts of things for The Sims that would make the game end up being Mature. But EA wants the money and so they try to appeal to kids as well which is why they created MySims for the kiddies.

I got into The Sims a few yrs back. I would often pair players of the same sex also. However, I have come to find that The Sims is merely an exception when discovering other real life games (like, Virtual Families on PC or IamFam on FB) they don't allow players to create same sex couples. I was saddened to find this after only having experienced the Sims.
