Or one with 3?

Which would you rather have? Are you more of a looks over function kind of person, or function over looks? I've found French to be a bit squished and constricting, especially since I barely put anything in the freezer. Heavens, the choices!

trust me on this one, don't do the side by side, they look great but suck in day to day useage. there is NO space for everything and it's not easy to find an item as the shelves are so narrow and deep. I have one now, and would never do it again. If i was buying today i'd do the double door on top with the freezer drawer on bottom. or a fridge so huge that it takes up half my kitchen.....

My friend T has the french with freezer on the bottom. If you don't shut the doors in just the correct order they don't seal properly. Not that all models are like this of course, but her's certainly is.

We have the side by side, it's ok. The only problem I've come across is fitting in a baker's sheet while I was making candies.

My preference would be the single door with freezer on the bottom. :D

Side by Side have very narrow freezers, you'll have trouble fitting in turkeys, pizza boxes, etc.

I'd like to have a bottom freezer. I just had to replace my 'fridge and due to budget concerns I bought a top freezer model. Not what I wanted, but you can't beat them for price. And the freezer is much more usable than the side by side I had before.

What about the type that has the freezer on top?
They're too impractical and such a pain in the ass to use that we'll forget they exist for the purposes of this thread :p

That's been my experience using one too. Everything has to be on its side or angled to fit.

I prefer a freezer on top. I had a freezer drawer on the bottom and it's impossible to find anything. Everything is just piled in a big heap.

I'd like something like this when I remodel - drawers not doors. :)

I have a French door model with ice and water at the door.

The side by sides are nice, but not worth the extra money for me.

I've had them all through out the years. The best in my opinion you ask?

Single door on top, big ass freezer on the bottom. Stainless Steel.

I don't care as long as the door seals, and it's roomy enough inside. Having said that, I've been using a standard two door with freezer on top for the last 10 years and it's been fine. The only mistake I made was not getting a frost-free version - it was slightly more than I could afford at the time. This means the freezer ices up and needs to be defrosted every few months.

I grew up with side by side. (Never heard it called French before this thread).

When I lived in apt.s I always had the single door with the freezer on top.

My next one will be this one I hope:

The freezer in the side by side is just too narrow, and I end up losing things that eventually have to be thrown out.

A seperate large freezer chest would be choice. If you got a garage to tuck it in and all.

You got room for ice-cream, and all the body parts. ..|

I like the french doors with freezer on bottom. If I could afford it, I would get it and ditch my single door/freezer on bottom one
