six feet under

Since I haven't seen it in a while, the other night I pulled my box set out and started watching the entire series again. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since the show premiered. It's one of the best shows ever on television. As of last night, I'm half-way through Season 1 again.

And as everyone else has said, the series finale is incredible!

So incredible.

I am still thinking about the last six and a half minutes - and it's been a whole week since I finished the series!!

A-MAZING!!!!

My All-Time Favorite HBO original shows will always be "6 Feet under" ,"The Wire" & "Carnivale"...

And you know I couldnt forget "The Sopranos".....

I'm surprised HBO let SFU and Sopranos run their course, given what they did to Carnivale (damn them!) and one of my favourite shows, Deadwood (double damn them!!).

What I really loved about SFU was that the characters continually surprised you in the way they developed - Nate should have been more likeable than he was, but the more he developed, the less likeable he became. Same with Federico - he appeared very likeable at first but then he just turned out so self-righteous! IRK!

One of my favourite developments is the character Ted - he seemed so macho fratboy when we first meet him, but he developed so genuinely and surprisingly. A very good counter-balance for Claire.

Love it.

All four mentioned here are incredible. I have the box sets for all of them. My favorite by a country mile is still SFU.

As I mentioned I'm re-watching the entire series again and will be finishing up season one this weekend. I'll start on Season 2 Monday.

Except Margaret, she was a bitch from start to finish:badgrin:

I still haven't seen The Wire and The Sopranos..I don't know if I will like 'em and the dvd box-sets are too expensive to "just give it a try":(

Yeah, but I think secretly Margaret knows she's a bitch... and enjoys being so!!

You know, I REALLY disliked Brenda during most of the show--

See, I felt the same about Lisa, (Maya's Mom)

Bitch drove me crazy. ;)

I mean, (SPOILER ALERT) I didn't want her to die or anything, (especially on the beach at the hands of some nefarious stranger with a can of Dr. Pepper in her car) - But I digress....

But seriously, someone like Nate who could have had anyone he wanted and he picked that tree-hugging, Whole Foods shopping wench that.....

*ahem*

Deep breaths, Josh it's just a TV show.

*But* One that moved me and got under my skin like NO other.

And, for anyone that cares... I STILL haven't seen the last few episodes. Which is especially odd considering I bought the boxed set.

I guess I'm just not ready to ever let those characters go....

!oops!

You know, I don't know either....

The show never made all that much sense, (although it was fascinating enough for me to stay glued through two seasons...)

And that young guy who played the lead.... YUM...don't get me started....

And then, *poof* it was gone.

Really frustrating.

Reminds me of a show on NBC called, "Invasion". Had a great cast, great potential - and then NBC just pulls the plug. (And then has the nerve to sell the incomplete story on DVD ! )

Ahh well, it's all about profits, anyway....

Josh, finish the series. The finale is incredible. I saw it for the first time on DVD and couldn't believe how good it was and had to watch it again right away.

Characters I didn't like were Matt Gilardi from Kroener. The actor played well but I thought he was too over the top in his character trying to buy the Fisher funeral home.

Rachel Griffith's acting was amazing. Her American accent is perfect considering she's from Australia. When I've seen her being interviewed with her normal speaking voice it doesn't seem real.

I found Lisa annoying. The actress' voice is too "whispery". Lisa is too clingy on Nate. And like others have said, Federico was too self-righteous in a lot of episodes. Brenda's parents were interesting and I'm glad they included stories about those two.

I loved David and Keith's scenes. You could see they really loved each other. Karla's drug addiction story was unnecessary as it dwindled rapidly.

It's one of my favorite shows and this is why I've seen the entire series several times. The individual season box sets were on sale several years ago at Sam's Club for $15 each so I bought all 5 seasons. I've gotten my money's worth out of them.
