No, you can upload from your PC i the Tree icon has two tabs - there is the hyperlink one on the left, and the upload on the right, which opens a bigger box.

It was acting up for me this morning, but there was a "basic upload" link underneath that did the trick.

Note, when you have the image textual links showing posted, then "go advanced".
When you get the Blue background A/A in the left corner of the editor, click it and wait while your post flips to
WYSIWYG - and the thumbnails appear instead of the wrapped img codes.
Then you can double click on the images, one at a time, click Center and Full Size buttons and, suddenly, your pics are as large as life!!
