To the post above: My mom said similiar things, and so did my whole family. When I came out, however, it was a completely different story. Nobody seemed to care, and nothing really changed. If anything, I became closer to them
I've been coming out to more and more people so I decided to put up a Avatar. Not sure if I'll keep it up though.![]()
Well, I only have one parent. Dad left when I was born, so no need to tell him anything. but as far as my mom goes. I had met a guy online, and we became best friends (still are to this day, but don't date) Anyway, I saw how happy and go lucky he was being out. I had made a commitment to myself to be "out" by the time I was 24. So the summer of my 23rd year, I decided to tell her. I had kept my life a secret. All my dates with girls, were actually guys. She just assumed I was embarassed of my family was the reason I didn't bring girls home. But I was staying with her for a few weeks, and decided the best way to tell her without that awkward silence was online. Yes, it seems cowardly I know, but its what worked for me. We were in the same house, but I couldn't get any privacy to tell her face to face. So I typed up a really long note in notepad, and just sent it. Once it was sent, there was no turning back. It took some adjusting to, and since we have become really close. Hope that wasn't too confusing for you, lol.I wish that could be my story (and I hope it will be) but how did you get past that fear to tell them ? I can never just come up to my parents and go: Mum and Dad, I think I like dicks (hehe). Is it a good idea if I wait til when they're in an utterly superb mood ?![]()
Why do we have to work so hard just to be ourselves ???![]()
