This girl and her hot boyfriend are awesome!!! :=D:

So many kids are killing themselves because of pieces of shits like the ugly hag in the video. It should be illegal to be out in public spreading such nasty hate speech. It's definitely not ok for someone to hold a sign with the N word and other racist shit on it, this shouldn't be ok either.

No. Not awesome. The young girl gave up the high ground by assaulting the woman holding the signwho is entitled to express her opinion under free speech laws. Her sign didn't use the word 'Faggot'....or anything like that.

Arguing with her afterwards was useless. And to be frank, the girl's tirade tirade was personally mean and hateful.

If she wanted to make the point, she and her boyfriend could make up another sign saying 'Thank Your Mom Today if You're Gay'. and standing about 20 feet away.

Not impressed.

I don't care what the law is and if she has the right to say what she wants, it's still wrong and even more hateful and mean than the girl's tirade. At least that girl was defending people and wanting to prevent an entire group of people from getting their feelings hurt instead of trying to make a whole group of people feel like they're worth nothing. She might as well have said "Go kill yourself gays, You're going to burn in hell, God hate's Fags" just like most of the other "Protesters" usually put on their signs. Just because something right now is legal, doesn't mean it shouldn't be illegal. It falls under harassment, bullying, and hate speech which isn't allowed in schools and work places so it shouldn't be on public streets where young gay kids can see it.

You stand there with a sign that nasty, you're asking for a slushee to be thrown at you. I feel no sympathy for her at all. Gays are a smaller and sometimes more timid minority, if it were someone holding a racist sign up they'd probably be punched in the face, stabbed, or even shot. I'm not saying they should be but nobody's really doing anything to stop these people from doing what their doing. They're just saying "The law allows free speech so it's ok" when it's not. When something isn't right it should be changed no matter if it was declared a law by some old people hundreds of years ago or not.

Well you go out and do what you think you need to do.

Obviously you favour first throwing things at people and then yelling at them.

The fact that the woman stood there and argued calmly after being hit by the girl says a lot more about the strength of her own convictions...however wrong...

The fact is...her sign didn't have anything that incendiary on it....unpleasant as its message was.

However, all in all...it only makes me happier than ever that I live in Canada where such protests are no longer tolerated in public.

I just think it's sad that this woman has nothing better to do with her time. I think her sign is more stupid and confusing than greatly offensive. And it was only a few years ago the Supreme Court ruled that the Westboro Baptist Church can hold public displays that are far worse than what this woman is doing. Under the law, the girl would probably be charged with harassment.

I feel sorry for the old fool, she looks so depressed and done in.

Rareboy is right, this qualifies as assault.

Moreover, the girl knew she was breaking the law, as disclosed at the end when she asks the videographer to "leave the slushee part out, I don't want to go to jail."

Her behavior is juvenile and disgusting and the religious nutjob behaved with much more dignity.

On the free speech issue, I like it.

Thinking about it more, I guess you guys are right. Peaceful fighting is much more effective and a better way of going at it. I don't blame the girl for reacting the way she did though. She was hurt and thought with her heart and not with her head and so did I. Maybe she had a family member or friend who committed suicide or almost did or got kicked out of their house or some other traumatic experiences so it made her angry. I don't think she's a bad person for it.

If the girl can't separate who hurt her and how and the reaction from that from the rest of the public then she shouldn't be out in public. She knew better. There's a reason that assault is illegal. Unless, of course, you want one in four women kicking you in the balls and yelling at the top of her lungs because you're a man and they've been assaulted by one before and hey, weren't you too close anyway.... I mean, I suspect you wouldn't get a block away from home before you'd be yanking back that "it's understandable, nay, reasonable." that you were skirting around. Particularly since it's to you instead of for you.

.

@dustinsdaddy,

Verbal would be harassment, chucking things is assault. For all she knew the woman could've stumbled into the road and been squished by a car while trying to wipe icy sugary crap out of her eyes. And then it would've been quite a bit worse than harassment.

Perhaps someone who 'speaks her language' would have a more likely effect on this woman. The type of person most ideal to speak to her would be a pastor of a moderate mainstream church - maybe one of those denominations in the north-east U.S. - someone who has some degree of religious authority and can 'rationally' debate religion with her. I say this because it's clear the screaming yelling girl was having no effect and they may as well have been on two different planets.

But it's likely that nobody could ever change that woman's views. It's very sad.

I don't agree with this womans reaction with assault, but at the same time for a person speaking and promoting hate I don't know how you don't expect this coming eventually. Not every person that is offended by a racial/ethnic slur is going to react physically, but there is always someone out there that will. Speaking and promoting hate makes people angry, one shouldn't be surprised by some of the reactions one might get.

I know you all were cheering for the girl on the inside, regardless of how high your horsies are. :gogirl:

....'fraid not. J think they're both fools, though for different reasons. But if you're really aching for that reassurance that others feel as you do, I'm sure you've a bathroom mirror to peer in.

Pointing out you just called everyone a liar isn't much of a fight. Makes one wonder if you've ever seen a fight, let alone been in one. Perish the thought. Fortunately this is the internet, where you won't have to rely on what I can only assume is your inadequacy with fisticuffs.

Now, about you claiming everyone else was really rooting for the girl because you desperately want reassurance - your mirror is waiting.

*Edited to add,

Although a conversation about the jellyfish affect might be entertaining, if not fruitful. Why is it, do you think, that some people like to swoop in and pretend that they're bravely Speaking to Truth a coherancy of opinions that not only don't exist, but that no one gives a damn about? I mostly ask because, Entertainment, and also this might be old fashioned of me, but it rarely ceases to amaze that I run into one of you about once a month or so. It's like you're the same cardboard cutout and you spend a month, month and a half pumping yourself full of air to have another go just because someone had the audacity to disagree in words of more than one syllable.

I mean, fuck, does 'not everyone feels like you' invalidate you so much that you actually feel the need to correct people about their own emotions? on a topic? It obviously does or you wouldn't have rushed in, not once but twice.

^And since that's what you've shown (and so far all that you've shown), you might not want to be on the internet at all. It's a dangerous place for you, what with people disagreeing and all.

We're not gonna take you
We forsake you
Gonna rape you
Let's forget you better still.
