I may have mentioned (once or twice) that I smoke.
I started in July, 1971.
I was 12 years old.
Now, I'm 47 and I'm entertaining the idea of quitting.
No, I haven't had any health scares.
No, I haven't been motivated by the incessant nagging from my family.
Or by those pain-in-my-ass NO SMOKING! EVER!ANYWHERE! ANYTIME! YOU FILTHY, DISGUSTING, EVIL, SMOKING BASTARD! laws.
Or by the constant price hikes and obscenely high "SIN" taxes.
I'm just getting tired of the habit.

Three weeks ago, I started weaning myself off the damn things.
I'm down to 15 a day, from my earlier 30-35.
It's not as hard as it sounds.
I simply write down the time when I smoke each one and limit myself to no more than 1 per hour.
Also, I don't keep them next to my chair, anymore.
The smokes are on the other side of the room - next to the clock and the note pad.
So, I have to get up, walk over and if it isn't time - I don't light up.
Next, I'll try to extend the between time to 1&1/2 hours, then 2 hours and so on...
Who knows, by Spring, I might have another reason to be bitchy...
