...the amateur, "actors are nervous, and the director's talking to them" scenes are much more "real" and hot to me, because they aren't trying to feed me this bullshit story with horrific acting; they're nervous, they're doing it for the money, and the director's telling them to do what's going to look hot on camera. Everything about that is true and real.
I know what a cumming cock looks like. Sure, I want to see the money-shot, but not just the money-shot.
So in addition to my writing for a gay publication, I edit gay porn. Now my boss is gay and he loves my work, but as a straight guy I see everything in terms of technical aspects and really don't connect with the content....so for those who watch/use/enjoy/whatever gay porn, what do you like to see? What do you look for? What gets you into it? I'm humbly trying to create a more engaging product for the target audience.
On an semi related note....a gay porn inspired by the concepts of the Twilight series...good idea or bad idea?
Thanks everyone.
This thread is why I don't ever ask for porn advice here.
First... he's an editor. Or so he says. And you're all giving him production and directing notes.
He can't get "better acting" or "less dialogue" or "more kissing."
By the time the editor gets the footage, it's too late to add "acting" or "kissing " or "dialogue."
what advice you can give the editor....
- try not to do those 3-minute static shots of a closeup of anything. It gets old.
- Try to cut back and forth between action and facial expression.
- don't edit out the talking.
- try to make a note of where people's hands, feet, body parts are... if you're cutting to a shot that was done 30 minutes later, if there's no continuity... people will notice.
