Harvey Weinstein has been found guilty of sexual assault, capping a stunning downfall for the former Hollywood mogul and a victory for the #MeToo movement against harassment.

Weinstein, 67, was convicted in New York City of third-degree rape and first-degree criminal sexual act.

But he was cleared of the most serious count of predatory sexual assault. He faces up to 25 years in prison.

I wouldn't underestimate the legal resources of the very rich. There is a significant chance his legal team will win something more on appeal.

I remember watching award shows and one person on one award show after the next person on another award show would thank Harvey and I remember thinking to myself "who is this guy?" .

Im glad justice was done but too bad he wasnt found guilty of 1st degree rape (which I learned today) is rape with force; and rape in the third degree is they have consensual sex with another person

I read an interview yesterday where one actress was told she HAD to thank him when she got her award. She refused
 
He was convicted so he is guilty. What does puzzle me is that the verdict was reached based upon the testimony of women that said that they had continued sexual relations with this old man after the rapes had occurred. Did Harvey physically overpower these women? Were they not able to outrun this guy? Did they submit out of fear of messing up their careers? Did Harvey mistake their submissive attitudes for an attraction of these women towards himself?

I grew up thinking that rape was a violent act, that a man would overpower his prey and inflict pain if need be to have sex with his victim. I sat on a jury where an estranged man was accused of raping his estranged wife. Her dad testified that when he walked in on them that he thought that they had reconciled "again". Had it not been for the pictures taken of her fat lip and black eye it would have just been another he said she said case. When Coby Bryant was accused the first thing I asked is what the employee who was off duty was doing at his room at that hour. In this case with an old man like Harvey I have to ask why any young woman would ever want him in a sexual way .

If any of the over 100 women had sex with this guy to further their careers, is this just a case of buyers remorse?

His room at Riker's has been described as a hotel room. He's going to be completely segregated in a room with a shower, TV and telephone. He's never even going to see Bubba.
