Good sis, I'm truly amazed and surprised at what you're telling here..
I can't believe that people give you shit for seeking hook-ups. That's the whole idea of grindr, I thought. Does it change, depending on where you are? Here it certainly is only about hook-ups, in my experience. I haven't used it that much though, tbh.
But I just read today actually that they are going to change grindr completely, giving it some new additions (new interface, "community filter" - e.g. jock, bear, twink) etc. in order to actually help guys find each other.

I wasn't even really seeking them.... I had nothing in my profile but when I was talking to these guys it just came up and they immediately started getting holier than thou.



I think it's totally because I am smack dab between two cities. I'm sure if I was in D.C I would of come in contact with a lot more hookup-Possibilities


Not here for the STDs though so I'm just gonna set back and cruise in my lane.

Furthermore, I don't understand why someone would suggest treatment for something that has been classified as untreatable. And lastly...Calling me narcissistic is not a concern of mine. I know I have a lot of self-confidence and that came through getting treatment for an eating disorder and realizing a lot about myself and realizing how good I look both inside and out. I would rather be called narcissistic than be constantly self-deprecating.

I think I got everything.

Nevertheless, I'm really surprise that they're there for the possibility of a date and shade people who just use it for hook-ups. I've literally stopped using it after I tried it a couple of times. Immediately after I saw all the guys posing shirtless in front of the mirror, then I got the point. I've always considered it a hook-up app so I really don't get this - smh.
Regardless, people shouldn't shade each other just because they aren't there for the same, tbh.

Since we've skipped over here, I'll throw a couple pennies in the well, too.

I don't consider self-confidence and narcissism to be the same thing. I think I've got plenty of self-confidence, but I can recall being called narcissistic precisely once in my life. (And it was on this board. :) ) YR, I can't recall you saying or doing anything that suggests narcissism. To me, installing mirrors above your bed suggest self-confidence. Pushing away your partner because he's blocking your view of the mirrors would be narcissism. :)

Good to hear about grindr. I never use it because it looks so cheap and tacky which doesn't help lower it's sleazy rep with the straights.

And yeah, there are plenty of pretty decent guys who aren't there to hook-up or be your next newfound STD. Plenty. I just don't get many of them, but I get a lot of the ones from the image above. From licking my dirty pits & asking to buy my used socks to how I'd like to wear someone's wife's lingerie (WHAT). Maybe we should trade locations?

I was in West Hollywood a while back and the founder of Grindr messaged me on there. We chatted for about an hour and a half and we just sorta stopped. Months later in Vegas for this event called "Matinee" we saw each other and we met/hung out for a while. Pretty cool guy, gave me all this GrindR merch that I don't think I feel too comfortable taking out in public lol.

I've used this app for about two years now and I've yet to hook up, I met two guys on here, one was really fucking cool the other was just... crazy. Good luck on finding a good hook up though and always be safe, boo~
 
I just read 3 pages of posts here.

And I had to scratch my non-existent beard a few times.
