Which, to my surprise, was actually pretty enjoyable.

Hey, they even had a gay character who gets the guy in the end.

You have to look closely for it but it's there.

Yeah, it's cheese and it's really weird to see everyone spontaneously burst into 70s pop tunes, but hey... at least they haven't made a musical featuring the music of Air Supply yet.

yet.

I would watch it. But I know the musical part of it would make me scream.

I didn't like the singing. I thought the singing was bearable to awful. Olivia Newton John would have been a much better choice than Meryl Streep. I love her as an actor but I don't like her singing attempts. And Pierce Bronson singing.:help:

Oh god...don't even put these ideas out there! Haven't you seen the landscape of television and film lately? 90210, Reality shows...it's like the whole of "Hollywood" doesn't have an original idea left. You might have just provided one. I shudder to think...

It'll be a chick flick when it comes out.

I can't get into any movie that's a musical.

Oh none of them could sing but they were kinda endearing. It felt like my parents singing.. they could carry a tune and hit the notes but they weren't "great" singers.

It was fun and kinda silly.

Someone gave me that dvd months back. I still haven't watched it.

Remarkably, it is now the biggest film ever at the UK box office!!!

Hmm...

It was OK...

The lossless 7.1 Dolby , while a DTS-HD master, still sounded a little hollow to me....

The center channel was muddled, the surrounds never fired quite like I wanted them to...

Then again....

I could just be in need of a stiff cock up my ass.

I'll get back to you. ;)

For what it was, it was good.

I liked it and enjoyed hearing all the ABBA!

Hmm, haven't seen that yet.

It's one of the few movie musicals of the last 25 years that I enjoyed even a little.

Just watched Sweeny Todd the other day, going to watch Repo! Eventually since I have it on Blu-Ray...

Meh... Sweeny Todd I'm kinda interested in.. I like Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carder. Not interested in Repo. Paris Hilton gives me hives.

RENT was just a disaster...

Agreed. I started to think 595,600 minutes was the running time of the film. It started out stupid and then got stupider.

Hairspray I've seen Off-Broadway.

Meh.. the movie was... cute?

Hedwig is still one of my faves.

you're on your own there. I wasn't a fan.

ABBA though? Not a huge ABBA fan... and still haven't seen Across the Universe.... I don't know if I am a fan of the Let's take this Group's music and turn it into a literal thing...

Yeah, it's all pretty silly but if you're a fan of the music it's got is goofy charm just because of that.

Wow !

Way to ignore me...

I suppose I should be used to it...

After all, we impede each other's dominance... ;)

I really liked it, but I'm one of dem gays, so why wouldn't I.

I :luv: the "Lay All Your Love On Me" version that Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper sang.

Plus, while not my type, it was fun to see him jump around shirtless along with the scuba dancers. :)

(Is it really fucked up that literally 5 seconds after I hit "Reply" that the version they sing came on my iPod?)
