So I just saw the Ugly Betty season finale

Also, Faye is not Daniel's mother (At least no one's implied that.) Faye was Bradford's mistress, whom Daniel's mother allegedly killed. (She may be lying about that.)

You're right...what was I thinking before in my last post. (brain fart!) #-o Judith Light plays Claire Meade...Daniels mother. Faye was the mistress. Thanks for clearing that up!

Does that mean Bradford could be Amanda's father? hmmm???

BW, that's awesome!! It did not even occur me to think about that ... During the episode I kinda wondered why they did not play up the Mexico revenge cliffhanger from the previous episode. But then thinking about it now, Santos could have been swift enough to have dodged away from that bullet (guess?) ... I now hope Santos does live ... he is sooo cute! ..| And those eyes ...

Thanks for making my summer an even more grueling wait :badgrin: Just kidding, man!

Unless Daniel is proven to be son of one of Claire's affairs yet to be revealed?? Because Alex and Daniel have looked nothing alike? LOL!! This gets juicier!

Why this show has not received an Emmy I dunno ... I'll be rooting next year ... and I am first in line when the DVDs comes out!
 
since this is a telenova/comedy/drama.. heres some speculation on the next season:

the ultimate drama: clarie finds her kids in the car wreck and in saving them, she goes back to prison. bradford will realize what a snake wil is and cut her loose. i hope she doesn't get fired though, she is amazing x 1000. alexis will probably have amnesia or something. since faye is amanda's mom and henry's dad was never around - amanda and henry are brother and sister. amanda starts running things around mode or something.. it's quite obvious christina's husband is going to come back next season. err, i don't think santos is really dead. i think the robber took his wallet and was killed.

back to now:

i don't think they killed off ignacio. betty mentioned lawyers getting him home soon and hes such a pivotal character in the show.. i think he is too strong to be cut this early.

are we 100% sure faye is dead? remember when bradford looked in her tomb/catacomb (i don't know the correct term for what it was, but it was in a masoleum) and it was EMPTY!?

also, remember when wil gave marc that hummer so he would be quiet about the mysterious phone calls? the guy who GAVE him the hummer was the same hitman who cut the brakes in bradfords car (stupid IMO, why would they do it the same way, so suspicious).

and betty, what a bitch at giving up on daniel.

lastly, what is with all the CGI.. omfg, it's like green screen and painted backgrounds for everything! it looks so tacky.
 
It's so probable that Ignacio could have died. I almost forgot that little scene in Mexico with the guy on the phone. I can't wait for the next season. I hope Betty gets Henry. He's so adorable, way better than Walter.

The show hasn't received any Emmys because it just had its first season, which started in September of 2006. The Emmys are shown in September of every year, so its eligible for the 2007 Emmys.
 
I only caught bits of it, but I caught the last minute, and it was pretty sad. Just that scene of Betty and her sister out in the hallway. Sad, sad, sad!
 
very interesting how the "comedy" borrowed heavily from the prime time cliff-hangers of the past (think "Dallas," "Dynasty," and "Falcon Crest").

I think there were more climax moments in the last 30 minutes of "Ugly Betty" than all three of the aforementioned soaps combined. Good goin' ABC :)

It's like almost everyone has a part that keeps fans in suspense? I love Marc. And I love the way the show chooses to end the Season 1. Fabulous.
 
The finale was very good. I never expected it to happen that way with Betty and her family. The Meade brother and sister was kind of expected, and of course the don't die or else Betty will be running the magazine. (Wilhemeina can't be put in charge just yet or there'll be no second series).

Anyhoo... Very good. I can't rate it better.
