you're not damaged. and 'normal' is whatever you choose to make of it.
on the outside those families you see in a book or on a family tree are just as normal/flawed/happy/crazy as anything else out there.
as to your half-siblings, who knows? maybe they yearn for the same thing you do. there are potential connections to be made there if you want them.
