Reading a few threads, recently, I noticed guys acting like total douches when they posted.

With gays being so bad to other gays, why do we expect the straights to "behave"?
 
I think it's all forums in general and not so much the people so to speak. When posting on the internet, you don't have anyone there to keep you in check, slap your face, or crush your balls if you post something inflammatory and stupid. I don't think a lot of these "dicks" would speak the same way to people face to face.

I try to be respectful on the net, and treat people as I would treat them in person. Apparently there are a lot of people who haven't learned that yet.

I also don't believe that gays expect any more or less from straights than we do from ourselves.

Just my 2 cents.....:-)
 
Sometimes, the loudest and rudest gays DO expect the straights to respect them, even though they are rude to straights and other gays...

Jub is one of the most friendly gay boards I've ever been on. The amount of snarky to friendly is probably 1:15.
 
The majority of JUBERS think they are RIGHT 100% of the time. Clashing is the end result when you stand by what you believe is right.

There's a lot of "Control freaks" here as well. A Public forum is the silliest & last place to ever play a "control card".

Well, the frustration that you feel and expressed here is, I suspect, the same frustration many others feel and also express in their own posts. What's the difference between your desire to vent and anyone else's? Why is it okay for you to describe others as "stupid" or as "rude douches," but not okay for others to attack arguments or even other writers?

Nine of Clubs just did that "its not the same around here anymore thread last month, too.

He's a fun guy when he loosens up, things can get under his skin easily. I try to remember that when dealing with him. I don't think he wants to restrict anyones right to speak, juet their right to stupidity.... lol.

And we all know ya can't do that.;)

People play in different ways and when people are playing in a thread that entertains me for whatever reason, I join in.

If I don't like the general thread and it looks like people are being silly, like what happens in the celeb forum....

  • hes gay I blew him last week
  • you are a liar

thats sort of how it goes as the guys post pictures there. I look at the pictures and throw some in if I know of any and move on.

Some people, on the otherhand,... ha .... Exhibit a level of stupidity in a post and I feel compelled to let them know. Usually its about personal core beliefs, tho.

And thats the thing....

all people here all have different core beliefs. you never know when a little comment could trigger a negative response. I just learned that in the end someone always winds up agreeing AND disagreeing on just about any idea I have because there is such a diversity in peoples backrounds, cultures, and nations, here at JUB.

It is a very unique forum in that it has global appeal to english speakiing gay men across the planet.

Someone is going to get riled, or in the vernacular, someone is going to act like a dick, and thats just the way it goes.

maybe I just have a thicker skin than others and don't mind giving back whatever BS gets shoveled my way.
