Not necessarily too late--at least for normal people wanting a degree of privacy. If the flow of information to Big Tech is stopped, then eventually the information they have won't have much value for them. It will be too old.

FFS, leaving aside Big-Bro-In-The-Sky or Big-Bird-Bodyguard, from the moment one has neighbours, fellow citizens or fellow members (i.e. a "society" - government, bigger or lesser, included) "privacy" is down the gutter... all this fuss about being surveilled is croaked up loud mainly by those used to be the ones to do the surveillance "old style" (or, at least, who feel being exclusively entitled to it), and then also by the idiots who do not mind absolutely anything as long as they are not [made] aware of it.
