So, what cancellations pissed you off this year?

A lot on this list are shows that do very well overseas, it makes me think that the studios give that no credence when deciding on ratings.

Samantha Who?

Barry Watson is hot! I hope he gets another TV series, as well as Christina Applegate. This show was one of the few sitcoms on TV that are actually funny and not stupid.
Oh Well! They always cancel the TV shows I like and leave on the ones I hate.
I liked Swingtown that was on CBS last summer. I wish HBO would pick it up. I guess it was too racy for regular TV.

Thank you! I thought for a minute I was the only one who is going to miss this show. Christina is so funny and I loved the whole idea about having amnesia. I thought that was one of the most creative ideas in a long time.

I read online that they canceled the show to save money. I wonder if another network could pick up the show but I doubt it.

I will really miss Sarah Connor. They should have at least given us a short 3rd season to resolve the storylines.

And I actually like Dollhouse (yeah, it took about 5 or 6 episodes to get good), but I don't understand why Dollhouse's renewal can't be mentioned without TSCC's cancellation.
I mentioned with TSCC's cancellation because they were paired together on the same night. When Dollhouse was launched there was a lot of tie-in with TSCC. Also, TSCC had a huge mid-winter hiatus for no apparent reason. It finally returned randomly with little promotion. Then there was only cross-promotion pairing Summer Glau and Eliza Dushku as "friday night vixens" and shit. It seemed TSCC was moved to friday and new episodes were held back to be a lead-in for the premiere of Dollhouse. So I'm very annoyed that they fucked with TSCC in several ways to prop up Dollhouse.

never got around to watching Samantha Who. kept meaning to though. guess i'll have to watch on dvd. bet the same thing's gonna happen with Ugly Betty. by the time i get around to actually watching it, they're gonna axe it....

i WAS really surprised to hear it was being cancelled. thought it was really popular...

I am both furious and dismayed that they have cancelled "Without A Trace", arguably one of the far better offerings on network television today. It is no wonder the networks continue to lose viewers. I hope that a cable station will pick it up, as I know there are episodes playing on TNT in the afternoons, and USA picked up Law and Order CI...

I didn't even know The Game was officially canceled...It wasn't must see TV, but I had only started getting into it via the BET reruns

But the CW never ceases to confuse me

So apart from the two Tyler Perry shows - thats it for black sitcoms? Wow.

And I also don't see the point of One Tree Hill without Lucas/Peyton. I honestly think the Season should've have been the last season - I could just never get into 5 &6. As much as I love James/Nathan - I don't see him as carrying the lead male role

I don't think it was the pairing of Dollhouse that did TSCC in; it was the Friday night death slot. And in the end, I don't think it was an either-or situation with these 2 shows -- they both had pretty terrible ratings. But Fox chose to save Dollhouse because Fox produces the show, whereas WB produces TSCC. They can at least make a little money off Dollhouse.

Yea but the first season of TSCC had decent ratings. My point was it seemed to have been moved to Friday in order to pair it with Dollhouse.

Yeah, the first season of TSCC had decent ratings, thanks to a short 9 episode season, and a huge lead in from the Super Bowl for its premiere.

The 2nd season ratings were down considerably when it was airing on Mondays. Fox chose to move the show to Fridays for the return of 24, and since American Idol came back, they had to move House to Mondays, so there was no room left for TSCC other than Fridays with Dollhouse. It seemed like a good idea to pair those 2 shows, but not that many people are watching TV on Friday nights. If it were up to me, I would have gotten rid of Fox's terrible reality programming and kept TSCC. It's too bad, because I wanted to know what happened with Catherine Weaver...

This year - Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money - fuck you ABC, I see Supernanny survived though. Reaper - fuck you CW, its season ratings were virtually the same as 90210 and it got saved. TSCC got the kiss of death when it got bumped to Friday and clearly had none of the network support which saved the inferior Dollhouse.

Definitely Without a Trace. Apparently not because of ratings, it's just a very expensive show to produce. Pity, it's one of the few shows I still watch on the 4 main networks in the U.S. Maybe one of the Cable Channels will pick it up ala Law and Order Criminal Intent.

Well neither Dollhouse nor T:SCC belong on Friday. Fox is full of fucking dumbasses. You don't put shows targeted towards high-school/college aged people (the people who would be familiar with Terminator and Buffy and likely compose the primary audience of the shows) on FRIDAY NIGHT. Friday night is for 'family' fare and/or cop procedurals that old people like.

As far as T:SCC goes personally though... I watched it for the first few episodes and it was shit. My friends swears it got much better but I never bothered to pick it up.

Well, I guess NBC did pull the plug on Kings, which sucks ass, because I think it has a lot of potential. Then again, I never really thought it belonged on NBC in the first place. I say move it to FX and let the geniuses behind Damaged work their magic on it. Or move it to HBO or Showtime, and really push the boundaries. In any case, I'll watch the rest of the series when it comes back next month.

Kings never got a chance in that timeslot when TAR and EMHE are both Top 25 shows.

FOX just never gets it. I'm just relieved that Fringe and Lie to Me got renewed.
TSCC was kinda good in the beginning and then slipped quite a bit this season. You are right about it not belonging on a Friday night, Ghost Whisperer, which does, killed it in the ratings. If a FOX show can't be slotted with Idol or on Animation Domination Sunday and isn't House, 24 or Bones it just doesn't stand a chance.

i'm so glad i'm not the only one peeved about sarah connor being cancelled. i guess now my only option is to contact josh friedman and ask him what would have happened.

and about the no black sitcoms on tv comments, we are getting the cleveland show on FOX in the fall. thats something at least

They did pick it up. It will air this fall on Fridays following Ghost Whisperer. CBS actually owns the show and they felt it was a perfect fit with GW as lead-in.

That's good news (to me). I love Medium. Thanks for letting me know!

Reaper was cancelled?

FUCKING CW!!!!!!!!!!

Eli Stone

Eli Stone, one of the best upbeat well written shows I use to look forward to. Yet I guess not too many thought the same. Loved the story lines and the actors.

FOX sitcoms that have live actors instead of animation should never even hit the airwaves.
There are rumblings that a cable network might take over Reaper and with FOX delaying the sitcom that Tyler Labine (Soc) is acting in until this is resolved and he would still be under contract to Reaper first and foremost, this is a real possiblity.
