If Messi plays well, he could lead Argentina to the championship. But he hasn't done so well in the qualifiers. It seems that he doesn't feel comfortable in the team, or that Maradona doesn't know what to do with him.

Let's face it. Maradona hasn't achieved anything as a coach yet, and he was designed to lead the team! Only because Argentines see him as a god

The application process meant that you bid for tickets for games not yet decided. I knew I had tickets to Match 11 and Match 23 back in late November, but the draw was only done in December so for those few days we had no idea who was where. I bid also for Match 44 and Match 30, which turned out to be Netherlands-Cameroon (I'd sell my left testicle for a ticket to that... sigh) and Portugal-North Korea, so we certainly didn't get the pick of the games here in Cape Town. Looking at the stadium list, though, it seems like nobody really did.

At first glance the best of the lot is probably Soccer City in Soweto with the opener, the final, and a couple of big games - Brazil-Cote d'Ivoire, Germany-Ghana, Netherlands-Denmark and Argentina-South Korea as well as a 2nd round game and a quarter.

Still - only 7 more sleeps. Woohoo!

If you think germany's been spoilt then watch Englands games against Mexico and Japan. Played extremely badly in both games, if Mexico could shoot and Japan not score own goals we'd have lost both of those games.
