I just read it a few days ago. It was great! The pictures were amazing and the article was very interesting. I didnt know that they almost got away.
 
It was an excellent movie. The music and costumes were amazing. I think that anyone that sees this movie that appreciates historical and period films will enjoy it. No they dont show the beheading. Also to those of you that are going to see it there is a part where is grabbing shoes really quickly and I could have sworn there was a pair of light purple converse sneakers. Please look for it and tell me I am not going crazy. For those going to see it I hope you like it.
 
yeah they weren't as accurate as they hsould have been but it wasnt that bad.
 
I really liked the movie. I just visited Versaille in May and it was just neat seeing it in the movie as well.

I enjoyed it too although there was some distractions, and they have nothing to do with the movie. There was a woman with her damn baby screaming and for some reason she wouldn't leave. Then the projector was louder than the movie. lol #-o
But I loved watching the cinematography; there are too many beautiful shots to count. My two favorite shots of the movie are when Marie Antoinette is on the balcony and the camera pans away from her; my other favorite is when Marie Antoinette is looking out the window at the Russian guy (I don't remember his character's name or his real life name) and the Russian guy is on the horse. What a gorgeous shot. :D
Also, besides the cinematography, what made me like this movie was the humor. It was very funny. Jason Schwartzman is hilarious.

I will not go see the movie for two reasons:

1. Kirsten Dunst (Can't act, boring)
2. Sofia Coppola (Can't write, direct or act and she ruined Godfather III)

And I doubt that any Americans would get up in arms if the French did a movie about the War of 1812 and changed the events. I doubt any American would know what they changed anyway...lol. Nor do they have the passion to care.

That aside, it does look like it will be a beautiful movie. Shame that it will be a hatchet job.
 
I agree. Those were great shots. He was hysterical. It was weird to see Molly Shannon somewhat serious. I thought the shots they had of ppl walking up the stone stairs outside in the garden was really cool. I did really like that scene when she was looking out the balcony by herself. That just went to show how small she was compared to the world around her. There was another good shot which was at the funeral for her son where it was grey and overcast and everyone was wearing black and there were these yellow leaves flying everywhere. Jason Schwartzman was hysterical. He was so awkward in the movie which was great. The little girl that played her daughter Sophie was one of the cutest little girls ever.
 
I saw MA yesterday and I liked it. I thought it could've benefited if it was cut shorter by half an hour, but overall thumbs up. I thought Kirsten did a pretty good job too. My favorite scene was the 2nd time at the theater when she started clapping and nobody else clapped -- she was humbled by it.

I got the soundtrack (which is awesome) a week ago, and it was interesting to see which songs were paired up with which scenes.

Yeah it could have been a bit shorter, but it's a good movie nontheless.
 
Yeah that was a cool part. Kind of sad but cool and everyone just stared at her. It kind of reminded me of the end Dangerous Liasions.

It was a really good movie. As it was said, there were places where they dragged on, but it was still very good at portraying the emotions of the queen.
 
While I think the movie was stunning to watch for all the imagery, I do agree it couldve been cut a lot more short. There was one scene, that i cant remember right now, but while watching it I just kept thinking to myself "why does this need to be in there?"
 
I just saw it last night and I thought it was brilliant!! Incredible cinematography, amazing costumes and the French palaces were gorgeous! My eyes were having an orgy for two hours LOL!!! I loved the punk music mixed with the traditional look of the film (did anyone catch the blue sneakers???) It was very Sofia Coppola. I've noticed her three films all have the same distinct look & feel to them and somewhat same situations & feelings amongst her leading ladies. This movie was very Lost In Versailles, if you will. Loved it!!!!
