Soft or HARD?

But occasionally I'll sleep on harder ones or even the floor. Soft beds hurt my back after a while.

Have a tempurpedic. Have a pillow-top thing.

To be honest I sleep just fine on them both. I would not get the pillow-top again just because they quilt it to make it look luxurious, and all it does is make lumps of quilting. I like a smooth mattress, and I can do without the "image of luxury."

But regular mattress, tempur, it's all good. Tempur was a little weird to get used to the sinking-in sensation, and it kind of holds you in place like you're a spare piece of technical equipment in a foam-lined case, but I still get a good sleep.

Both are good for sex, (people...sleep...on mattresses???) and again just a matter of style - you can bounce around more on the springs, while the foam keeps you still...

Mattresses are easier on your knees than the floor. Although, the floor can be nice...

I like a soft top mattress that is supportive. If it sags because it’s so soft it'll make my back hurt and make sleeping on my stomach impossible. I love my current Serta mattress.
