It's a message board that has the same members as here. The problem is, half of them have already shown their true colors here so they fake a persona over there and try to pull of the nicest, caring member. If they don't the self-moderating system will ban them.

Don't get me wrong, there are some nice members from here over there too, but it has the usual trouble makers from here faking it. Let's be frank, most of the trouble makers come back here to stir up trouble when they get bored.
 
No need for drama, just explain to the guy that you and him are just not compatible for a "platonic" friendship
do it nicely and problem solved.

Yeah, that's what I'm gonna have to do. I never wanted a friend so I would be on call for times when they were bored or available. I will just tell him that I don't like spur of the moment dinners at my place and his since his schedule doesn't permit otherwise and since he can't have me over to his place that this friendship will not work out.
 
Maybe he is telling you in a subtle way, that that is all you are worth.

You mention the "self-moderating system". How does that work? People censor themselves?
 
^ Some nembers can somehow moderate the forum. Them same members can remove other members for the sake of doing so, such a a grudge from other forums. That's why certain entities get away with pasting their spew over there and others get removed.Of course, some of them try to act like loving saints there yet, come back here and leave malicious remarks to the Jub newbies cause they can't do it there.


There are no decent moderators over there except for the amateurs and automated Andy.:rolleyes: A certain wanna-be nun's been poisoning the other members who aren't aware of this forum. Terrible influence.:roll:

Indeed members can give out infractions to each other, so if you have two or three other malcontents working with you, you can clear out anyone you don't like.

I was a member there years ago, and it was mostly teens and a few oldies, now it's 99% OAP's, A sorry demise to a once pretty good site.

Update: I ended the friendship. I sent him an email saying that the friendship wasn't working out and I did not want a spur of the moment friend and also I wanted someone where we could alternate spending time at each other's homes.

He understood and said I was a quality person and appreciated me letting him know and if his work situation changed he would let me know. He's a nice guy but we didn't really click as friends so it's better this way. It's funny how people don't hear what you say. I had told him on the phone previously that I didn't want to just meet up at random times and let me know at least a day ahead and he called me Monday night and left a message about getting together that evening, I had sent the email Sunday and he responded today, Tuesday morning.
