Something very sad

Sometime last year I wrote a story "My Friend's Son", which you can read at

I've just heard some news about the boy who inspired that story (who for the record, is not gay, and who I haven't seen for about two years). He was out last night with some friends, and made some suggestive remarks at a few girls, on account of which he was chased by their boyfriends, and bashed so severely that he's now in hospital on life-support and unlikely to live.

If you have any love in your hearts, my friends, pray for his family and friends, and for peace in this world...

(*8*) (*8*) That is very sad. Hope he takes a turn for the better. Even though it won't make him better, I hope they also find and put away the people who did that to him.
 
How very sad, and how very deeply disturbing. My thoughts are certainly with him (and with you as well.)
 
he is in my prayers. my friend was muder because he was gay by a group of teenagers so my heart goes out too this boys family and friends i know what they are going though
 
I pray for him, his family, and his firends. I pray that whoever did this pays for their horrendous deeds.

I'll pray for world peace, too, but how can you achieve world peace when individuals in the same community do terrible acts like this?

A neighbor's son whom I had known and liked since he was about 4 years old was beaten the same way on his senior trip to the beach because he wore a certain color bandanna. When his group of friends were confronted by a gang of toughs, he was the one who tried to make peace and apologised and removed his bandanna.

While he was engaged with the gang leader, another struck him in the head with a baseball bat, repeatedly. He wasn't expected to live, but he did. He's crippled by the attack and incapable of the bright future which had lain before him.

He was smart and athletic and took loving care of his older sister who struggled most of her life with braces and crutches from spina bifidia, but became wheelchair bound during high school.

This was 20 years ago. They've both been chairbound since. The offending thug was 15 years old.

My heart is crying for your friend. And for you.
