Sometimes I think I do understand Charon

I totally understand situational nihilism. And Malthusianism.

And for some. I guess it helps them get laid or enjoy it while they are fucking.

So yeah. I get Charon.

And wish him joy and happiness.

Lyrics
There are plenty of late nights
If you want to stay up for them
You'll just want to find yourself a friend
And tie a couple on in a night spot
Draw pictures of your soul, win the jackpot
For tears in your beer
It's hip to be miserable when you're young and intellectual
In a bit you'll admit you're a misfit
Come on home with me
We'll turn on the TV
About 10 o'clock we'll turn off the light
Not every man was born to stay up late at night
There are plenty of boats to catch
If you notice all the sails in the wind
But you better look hard my friend
In case you catch a ride on the wrong one
In the distance is the one you belong on
Oh the water is wide
It's hip to be miserable when you're young and intellectual
In a bit you'll admit you're a misfit
Come on home with me
We'll sit under a tree
And if you get the itch
I'll supply the scratch
Not every man was born with a boat to catch
It's hip to be miserable when you are young and intellectual
In a bit you'll admit you're a misfit
A misfit

I totally do.

Hollywood must be stopped. That's what they cast to play Gomez after the captivating dynamism that was Raul Julia? Too many straight men in charge. FML.

Wednesday does love a spot of the ultra-violence. But at least she punishes privileged pricks. A rare gem of a sociopath.

I discovered the boards as a teen anyway. JUB is downright wholesome compared to most of the internet.

Hopefully that teenage discovery preceded your Sep 2009 join date by a few years.

I totally do.

Casting anyone but Christina Ricci to play Wednesday is violence. It's not even like she ages. Kat Dennings would've been misdemeanor assault but we would've dropped the charges cuz she's Kat Dennings. If those 40 year olds on Glee can play teenagers so can Chris and Kat.

Christina Ricci was great but she's now 42 years old. Jenna Ortega is 20 years old and she captured exactly the right delivery for Wednesday Addams.

There are rumors that Ricci is in the new series but Netflix is keeping secret what her role is.

That's Luis Guzmán. He's a fine actor but he doesn't have the debonair vibe of Raul Julia or John Astin.

If you didn't recognize Morticia, it's Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Charon doesn't have pigtails but I can envision him delivering any of these lines. "Immortal Soul" probably sounds amazing in a Mexican accent:

Christina Ricci is not an actress, she just looks weird, and that is all she needed to be cast as an Addams.

Remaking a remake is violence.

Oh yeah, remakes are da debbil is what I was going to say first! Then I saw new Gomez's mug. It became the travesty to deepen the knife of the initial travesty.

You wash your keyboard with soap. And then watch Casper and Monster.

Did you see All's Faire in Love? Damn she's short! That one's a whimsical, bizzare 90s-esque romp in a renaissance faire (ca. 2009). I don't think they'd make anything like that now.

P.S.: You must know by now that there is virtually NOTHING you can mention you like that dear belamo will not promptly vomit upon.

See? That is not acting, that is being naturally stiff and dull, which perfectly fits the producer/s's/director's take on the character. The new one attempts to be more conscious and intense, which is dangerous because when you actually attempt at acting you can end up failing more miserably.

Oh, and some could watch a little of her in "Pan Am", which shows not a bad day at the acting office, or her drowning in a bad script, but how her real [lack of] talent blooms.

Like when you watch Black Widow in a duo scene with Josh Hartnett in The Black Dahlia, and can not unsee her as an actress anymore, or Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and everything one had ever noticed or left out before, finally starts making sense.

This reads very much like Charon Universe

BTW, there must be already some Charon Appreciation thread out there, right?

I get Charon like I get Michael Myers. I just want to be able to say I knew him when we read about his serial murderer case in the future :rotflmao:
