Songs that dragged you out of that closet................

Max Power, Aqua was my first CD too!!!

The song that was playing when I came out to my mom was Take Your Mama by Scissor Sisters. I had been wanting to come out, and this song strangely gave me a shove to do it.

And that was mine too! :) Good times.

it was the good times. you are right.

damn do I have to admit that this song is awesome and I took my last female date to maple leaf gardens to see them.

I, too, wasn’t exactly dragged from the closet, kicking and screaming

Pete Shelley – Homosapien

^ ‘Dance Version’ – Side 1 of the vinyl, 12-inch, 45-rpm EP, produced by Martin Rushent in 1981…

^ ‘Elongated Dance Party Dub Mix’ – Side 2 of the vinyl, 12-inch, 45-rpm EP, again produced by Martin Rushent in1981…

I wouldn't say it dragged me out, but this song made a difference for me.

"Be a dream in color even on a winter's night
Thinking George Seurat, afternoon bathed in light
Get your joy no matter who says it's right
Their cover's blown
Find a story of your own

I'll take in anyone who's taking off their camouflage
I'll take in anyone who's breaking down the sabotage"

.

I don't know why, but this song helped me. it was nearly the only song i was listening to around the time I actually came out. It made me feel strong.

In my head the song was about my true self killing the lie version that I had created of myself
