This version of the song made me cry because he turned such a beautiful happy song into a miserable sad song. He is now dead from suicide.

There are quite a few songs that can reduce me to tears ... because they are utter shite!

However, in order to avoid causing unnecessary offence, I shall refrain from mentioning names ...but if I did, the Beatles and U2 would be likely to figure prominently.

I love this song. It may have been the first music video that made me cry.

Really hits hard... right here (pounds chest with fist) and hits close to home.

Several of the songs from Les Mis (best musical ever written, IMO) make me teary eyed every time I listen to them, but this one always reduces me to a blubbering mess, and no-one does it better than Colm Wilkinson ....

I cried once during Peter Gabriel's I Grieve but the song helped me cry, it wasn't why.

Songs that make me feel empty inside/moved to tears

Angie Stone's Wish I didn't Miss You

Beyonce's Version of Resentment "She sounds so disappointed and U can truly hear it in her words that forgiving the guy is utterly impossible

Beyonce's Why Don't You Love "It wasn't so much the words, but as the video of her pretend drinking, ruined make up, and her going through all her positives and basically trying to figure out why she is undesirable"

Tynisha Keli's Imprisoned

Tynisha Keli's Shattered

Anastacia's Left Outside Alone

Avril Lavigne's Nobody's Home, Happy Ending, Slipped Away

Chante's Guess Who I Saw Today

Tamia's If I were you

Kelly Clarkson's Because of You and Hazel Eyes.

nicely worded hoodie.
I think the acting in this video may have been the beginning of the end of Air Supply. I wouldn't have wanted to be in a band with those two after seeing the video. Hell I don't think I'd wanna be seen with them at McDonalds for that matter!

But my attraction to Making Love Outta Nothing... has much to do with Jim Steinman's input. I love the theatrics he uses to tell his stories. You can hear his genius all over this one. It's classic Steinman! Just like Total Eclipse of the Heart, 2 Outta 3 Ain't Bad and Paradise By The Dashboard Light. They all have these terrific tales (or fables w/a moral) while they each progressively build up to a dramatic climax and befitting end that completes the thought, and often with a great (sometimes humorous) twist.
