Songs that make you hate yourself...

I was at work the other night and this little gem came on the radio:



It came out when I was 11, and of course I knew all the lyrics to it. As the song came to an end and I was done singing, I started to hate myself for knowing such a ridiculous song.

It's all good, though. It put a smile on my face.

You know what I mean, though? What songs make you hate yourself for knowing and liking it?

Interesting topic...

I remember this one time last year when my wife and I were shopping at a certain grocery store which we liked to go to because not only was it quiet in there after 7 pm, but they used to play the best music we've ever heard in a grocery store chain -- Nirvana, Sublime, etc. Well, they were playing a song from Chumbawamba's Tubthumper album from 1997. Needless to say, I used to love that album and had to refrain from singing the whole song out loud because I was embarrassing the Misses.

Another song that I hate myself for knowing all the lyrics is "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind.

To answer the question... not that I can think of.

Even the silly songs that I know are songs that I just kinda giggle at.

I think my deal is that I never listen to lyrics as much as the song.. even some of my favorite songs I dont' know the words.

I realized at age 13 that there were two songs I really hated, and I knew every single word to - "True" by Spandau Ballet, and "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. (OK, I did think the first line in "Islands" was "Baby, since I met you, there's been peace at home", and it's actually "peace unknown".) Since then, I've never been mad at myself for knowing the words to songs I hate - I just assume it's gonna happen.

I had actually thought that song was by the Spice Girls......
But it's catchy, and that's that sad thing...

Semi-Charmed Life I actually like, although it does get stuck in your head.

For me, it's "Bye Bye Bye" from Nsync. Whenever I hear that song, it plays over and over in my head. Same with Umbrella or Shut Up and Drive from Rihanna. But the song I truly hate to get stuck in my head is the first hit from the Spice Girls, whenever I hear that song, I feel like taking my own head off.

I do not like that song at all but it gets played soo much at the clubs in my area, so i just sing along as i walk off the dance floor lol.
