Songs you listened to growing up

Wait: the thread says "growing up".
I thought it had meant "as a [little] kid".
I didn't start growing up until around 12, when I started listening to "art music"... from the lowest bottom, like:

Neither said that I enjoyed them

My brother and I put this on speakers outdoors at full blast when we trimmed the front hedge.

Full blast was enough to noticeably vibrate the windows of cars passing by.

Almost forgot to say that our mom didn't think much of the version with actual cannons and cathedral bells -- and we said that was the way it was written and we should be authentic!

Exactly! That's the sort of first crap I started being fed with when actually "growing up"... Apart from TAPP and Vangelis, my brother was a huge fan of Vivaldi and Tchaikvosky (I say "was" because I am not sure about the latter anymore, but he keeps collecting Vivaldian shit).

I remember... I was sixteen... summer 1991 must have been... tape version of this:

Berliner+Philharmoniker+The+Four+Seasons++Adagio++Cano-531933.jpg

Couldn't find the actual audio (I don't think the soloist was Mutter)

That adagio is so much summer siesta hour in Andalusia inside a car and inside the mind of a feverish-depressed guy in his anguished and ailing mid-teens, than the stupid corresponding section in the stupid 'Summer' concert.

But then, at the same time, there was this magnificently glorious recording being played even more often..:

Oh, and how about the soundtrack of my first ever infatuation with Fabio, the guy I met at the swimming classes..:

I mean basically the andante, of course...

Sing.....sing a song.....

Sing out loud....sing out strong...

Sing of good things....not bad...

Sing of happy....not sad..

Ah, and one of my other very first music loves, back when Karajan was the main guide to everything good..:

At around seventeen too.

Perry Como - Round And Round

I still love this. But someone put out a dreadful cover recently.

Rowing rowng back again, a couple of years before...

And yet further farther back, "Las maravillas de Malay":

Loved me some Paula Abdul too, and Janet, Madonna etc, the list goes on.

The first record I ever bought - a 45 - and I wore it out
