If you're like me, you're eager to do some traveling.

The current flight sale on Southwest Airlines is quite good.

And unlike some airlines, cancellations and changes are easy.

I had made a few purchases for future flights already. Some fares have dropped! Southwest will credit you the difference. So today I have a $111.00 credit with them.

Not everything I booked dropped in price. My $58 flight to Houston will not be matched. But this is the time to buy. Bookings are being accepted through October.,

Gee. Who wouldn't want to fly cheap with the possibility that the person in the next seat will give you COVID 19 and kill you if you are in a high risk group.

I'll take my chances. Nobody is dependent on me. And I'm stir crazy.

It's such a curious illness anyway. The descriptions seem ever-changing.

How long do you think this will go on, anyway? FIVE more months? I couldn't bear to waste that much of life.

Have a great time.

I had a four day trip to Milan booked before all this happened, thankfully i'm getting a full refund.

I get it.

But I am in no hurry to travel.

Especially by plane or by ship.

That depends very heavily on people who insist on spreading the virus by traveling.

You are welcome to take your chances, but you have no right to take lives in the process.

Are you a cold blooded murderer?

All the mechanics are out sick. Your flight is only one way.

Maybe I should have been clearer. I'm not starting to travel for at least a month. If my destination state is "closed," there's no point in going and I will postpone it further.

But I've already cancelled a March trip to the Midwest and one this week to Washington state.

Traveling this summer sounds risky and unknown for the fall. If traveling anytime soon, by a private car would be safer, although it could still be risky at the destination. At this time I'll pass on traveling this year unless I get much more cabin fever than I have now. Besides, I still take walks outside and may go to the park soon.

I wish you well Thad.

interesting point of view as the CEO of Boeing said if things don't change airlines will drop like flies---I just got a credit on the trip I should be on right now---(all the flights are cancelled ) which I can use 2 years from now---some travel experts saying it will take 2 to 5 years before people feel like getting on a plane...hoping it is not true.

It will undoubtedly go on much longer than only five months.

The virus will continue to spread until there is either: a) a widely distributed vaccine or b) herd immunity.

Until then, people will continue to be infected.

The real question is, what do we do in that interim period, which most experts say will last from (very optimistically) between one year and (very pessimistically) four years.
