Spartacus-season 2: "Vengeance" (Lucy Lawless is Back and Vengeful!!)

This is the BEST Season of the series...Every week they leave you on the edge of your seat...They burned that Arena down to the Ground...LOL....

Ilithyia has 9-Fucking Lives for sure.....Wow....She's getting everything she deserves though because she's done a lot of dirt....It's gonna be interesting to see how this baby situation plays out...Gaius Claudius Glaber is gonna Flip if finds out he's not the father....

Ashur's got a sharp new "do" but I like the curls more....he brought Lucretia all those Jewels and Wigs from the women he slaughtered and the thanks he gets is a slap in the face....LOL...

Naevia is deff something Crazy..Crixus Loves her so much he can't see that she has lost her mind...I'm surprised he's not sleeping with one-eye-open...I bet you a Million-bucks she's gonna be the one to Kill him before the show ends...The Chick is crazy..

Still waiting for the Love-making scene between Agron and Nasir...

Got to agree with you on this season being the best one so far, the writers really kicked it up . Every episode I cant wait until the next week, cant wait to see the finale next week. I think Gaius might get killed, probably by his wife.

Does anyone know if this will go on for another season, or will they end the series?

The life-span of a Hit Cable network drama is usually 5-seasons...HBO's "The Soprano's" was such a Mega-hit it lasted around 8 to 10 seasons..Very rare and costly when you consider James Gandolfini was getting $1-Million per episode in the final years of the Drama...

There are so many stories they can tell to keep Spartacus going....I read somewhere that it takes STARZ 9-months to film 7 episodes of Spartacus.....It's a lot of work to put that kind of Drama together...

In one of the commentaries on the DVD of Blood and Sand, one of the writers or producers (don't remember which) mentioned that they have planned 4-5 seasons total.

Am I the only one who finds Spartacus himself the least interesting of all the characters on the show?

"New Spartacus" is just "there"....The Guy possesses NO commanding presence...The entire cast is carrying that show...

The "Old Spartacus" can't be replaced and is not fogotten....

Holy crap! What a great ending. Sad to see Lucy Lawless go though. Happy to see Asher dead.

BRAVO to this seasons Sparatacus: Vengeance.....I finally watched the season finale last night and it was good...The writers must have a serious soft-spot for Ilithyia...When she passed out after watching LuLu tumble over the cliff with Spartacus's baby I knew then she'd be BACK for the next season...

I'm gonna miss Glaber giving us Dick & Ass this season but he had it coming....

I wish they would have chopped off the head of CRAZY Chick Naevia VS Oenomaus.....Oenomaus was somewhat the heart of the Drama.....Ashur finally got what was coming to him but his devious ways will be missed next season...

I hope Lucy and the baby fell in the water and ended up on dry land...Using Spartacus baby as a weapon against him is Lucretia's style...

My DVR-recording ended before I could see NEXT seasons preview-clip...Can anyone give a run-down?

It wasn't really a preview clip, but it was Steven DeKnight promising that there would be another bigger, better season.....in 2013.

Thanks Dude...Do you think Spartacus is worthy of Emmy nominations? I think the writing team should get Emmy nominations this year and the Drama deserves a nod for Best Dramatic series...Unfortunately these made-for-tv-historical series get no Love from The powers that be...

There was a popular historical Drama on HBO called Rome I think...I wonder if it got any Emmy Love?

It got technical nominations but nothing in the big categories which wasn't surprising since it wasn't nearly as awesome as Spartacus. I think Game of Thrones is the apt analogy here. No it's not a "historical" drama in the same sense but since Spartacus takes liberties with history for dramatic purposes, and since Game of Thrones features similar elements (faux-Shakespearean dialogue, lavish costumes, sword-and-sex drama, incest and romantic/political intrigue) I think we can compare them.

Basically what I'm saying is, Spartacus would fare better at the Emmys if it was on HBO. That network has become the Miramax of the Emmys. STARZ might as well be a production company from Croatia as far as the Emmys are concerned.

I would personally nominate Spartacus: Vengeance for Best Drama Series, Best Supporting Actress (Lucy Lawless) and Best Costumes. If there was a category for Best Pecs and Cocks, it would win that pants down.

No. I don't know the date in 2012. Typically the nominations for prime-time Emmys come out the second or third Thursday in July. Long as July 10 reaches. If applicable with 2012, it would be July 12 or July 19.

Um I was talking about the old HBO series Rome since you asked about that. The 2012 Emmy nominations won't be out until July. And I expect Spartacus to get zip.

At the Emmys' site, there is a calendar for the 64th annual prime-time Emmy awards:

@ 64th Primetime Emmy® Awards | Academy of Television Arts & Sciences

[Thursday,] July 19, 5:35 AM [PT; 8:35 AM ET]
Nominations are announced live from the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre

[Saturday,] September 15
Creative Arts Awards and Ball

[Sunday,] September 23
ABC telecast and Governors Ball

The nominations are typically covered on E! Entertainment Television and most of the broadcast networks' morning-news programs. Cable-news channels have become less reliable, recently, not only with the Emmy but even the Oscar nominations announcements.

The creative arts ceremony is not broadcast. Awards expert Tom O'Neil's site, GoldDerby, reports on them live (for an update). I think the Emmys' site may do that as well.

The prime-time awards ceremony usually begins at 8 p.m. ET.

I have had a chance to watch season 1 and 2. I love this show! Liam McIntyre grew on me mid-way through the 2nd season. He had some moments where he was very commanding. The season 2 finale was so intense!! Season 3 should be good! I am now watching Gods of the Arena. I will say this watching all of these guys with great bodies makes me want to train like never before!!
