A bottom guy I know went to a sex party. He drank and did some poppers, as did the other bottoms.
He said all the bottoms were also given some sort of herb in a pill form that would make them stay hard and would also make them want to get fucked more. He did say this "herb" made them pretty out of it...
He and the bottoms were fucked by multiple guys and even got DP'd and he said this herb made it okay and not painful. They were not only given this herb orally, but some of it was also stuck up their asses, supposedly to get into their bloodstreams faster...

Though I am totally ignorant about both natural herbs and recreational drugs, I am VERY skeptical that what they were given was an herb, and suspect that it was in fact some sort of drug like ruffies or perhaps Spanish Fly.
I asked if they had been drugged but he emphatically denied it.
I know that some medicinal drugs are sub-lingual and work faster when placed under the tongue, but its hard to believe that inserting a natural herb into their asses would both make it absorbed into the bloodstream faster and have such a strong effect on them.

What may have been inserted was Anal-ease, to numb them from the pain of being gangbanged and DP'd, but I am just guessing here.

If they were drugged, I am not sure if he knows it and is lying to me and/or himself, or if he naively believed them when they told him it was just some sort of safe herb.

I'm not sure what, if anything I will say to him about any more of this, but for my own curiosity, does such an herb exist?

This article addresses your question in some depth:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3731873/

I quote:

Chlorophytum borivilianum

Tuberous roots of Chlorophytum borivilianum (CB) (commonly known as safed musli) (family Liliaceae) possess immunomodulatory and adaptogenic properties and are used to cure impotency, sterility, and enhance male potency. Mayank et al. studied the effect of lyophilized aqueous extracts obtained from the roots of C. borivilianum, on sexual behavior in male albino rats and compared with untreated control group animals. They observed a significant variation in the sexual behavior of animals as reflected by reduction of mount latency (ML), ejaculation latency (EL), post-ejaculatory latency, intromission latency (IL), and an increase of mounting frequency (MF). Improvement in sexual behavior of extract treated animals achieved by enhanced penile erection and reduced hesitation time. The observed effects appear to be attributable to the testosterone like effects of the extracts. NO based intervention may also be involved as observable from the improved penile erection. The present results, therefore, support the folklore claim for the usefulness of these herbs and provide a scientific basis for their purported traditional usage.[

Tribulus Terrestris

● Natural precursor to the human sex hormone, testosterone.
● Balances hormone levels in the body.
● Increases dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)
● Be sure to select a Tribulus extract that contains at least 45% protodioscin
● Rejuvenation of sperm count.

After reading the article you provided the link to, it is obvious to me that this was NOT what they were given.
The author of the article says that substance is like a naturally occurring equivalent to testosterone.
He makes no mention of someone feeling stoned or "out of it" from taking it. I have known people who have taken testosterone and they have never mentioned or exhibited any such symptoms, either.
These guys exhibited symptoms more like having been drugged. One bottom was not even aware that he had been DP'd until he was told about it a few days later, according to the guy I know.

They may have been given more than one drug. The likeliest candidate is gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB). I've also heard stories about ketamine (aka Special K) being administered rectally during sex parties.

Tribulus, yohimbe and epimedium are also used in aphrodisiac herbals but these do not cause the sedation and "relaxation" that you described.

Your "bottom guy" friend is deluding himself if he believes he wasn't drugged.

While GHB could be the most likely culprit it is difficult to easily identify with the wide ranging speculations provided by the OP.

Administering herbal stimulants via suppositories at sex parties is news to me.

KaraBulut correctly speculates that a cocktail of drugs is the most likely suspect.

Sorry about the "speculation" on my part but he gave me few details, since a lot of it is fuzzy to him....
However I appreciate the replies and efforts to inform me on this.

It surprises and frightens me that he is acting so recklessly, but it's his life...

The thing that doesn't make sense is GHB is a liquid, so it wouldn't have been in a pill. That's why GHB (and chloral hydrate, for that matter) are often dumped into people's drinks when they're not aware.

I agree- I am not sure how a solid "herb" could be adequately absorbed rectally.

Here's the references on rectal ketamine:

As a club drug: https://www.erowid.org/chemicals/ketamine/ketamine_dose.shtml

Here's an enlightening newspaper article, published today on the matter of drug fueled sex parties :

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/nov/03/chemsex-rise-public-health-warning-drugs#comments

I quote:
The growth in use of illegal psychoactive substances during sex could pose an increasing risk to public health, experts say.

The popularity of “chemsex” – mostly but not exclusively among gay men – is leading some sexual health services to set up special clinics to treat the consequences of drugs such as GHB, GBL and crystal meth.

and a reader's comment following this article:

Drugs and sex - together - can be a very seductive but very toxic combination. I mean, taking drugs that simultaneously make you feel sexually excited and lower your inhibitions and then attending an orgy with other participants who've done and feel the same, well, what could possibly go wrong?

This reader's comment that followed today's update on Chemsex parties is very revealing:

http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/shortcuts/2015/nov/05/chemsex-how-dangerous-is-it#comments

I'm selecting an article from a UK newspaper for its in depth analysis of what is becoming an epidemic in sexually transmitted infections, with Syphillis and Hepatitus C leading the way.

Chemsex is extremely dangerous. Having watched this phenomenon evolve in London over the last five years, and having observed its ravages on many friends and neighbours, I and some others have observed that there are two main parts to the problem. First there are young men who have limited financial means and who become attracted to chemsex, and then there are the older men who have money who provide the opportunity and venues for the chemsex parties - their homes. If the young men are not careful they will become 'hooked' on the drug of everyone's choice in chemsex parties, Tina or methamphetamine, but as they cannot pay for it they will spiral down into prostitution ('escorting' where the payment for sex is either money or Tina) or dealing the drug to finance their habit.

Not surprisingly, infections are readily passed in the non-protected promiscuity of the chemsex orgy; not only HIV but also HepC. Indeed, one could probably map out the social networks of such orgies by looking at the distribution of the various genetic sub-types of HepC in infected men in London; there are some men who are veritable 'Typhoid Marys' of HepC, giving it to all and sundry.
Anti-HIV drugs are now relatively in-expensive as many are now coming of patent, but HepC treatment is difficult for the patient and expensive to cure. But given that as many as 30% of those men who are eventually cured of HepC will continue to indulge in chemsex and so inevitably become re-infected, there costs for the NHS are colossal. These men require psychiatric support as well as medical support.

Chemsex had destroyed the uninhibited gay sex of London; whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is a matter of choice. It is an Internet-driven phenomenon and one which is leading to a public health disaster.

For those who are interested, the chemsex phenomenon has been well-chronicled in Men in Search of a NarraTive by Bowditch Williams (the capitol T in the title is there for a reason...).
