Seen it a few hours ago. I am not planning to leave any spoilers.

I am wondering what others think of it. For me, I think the movie should just end here. I love Spidey, and admire its box office earnings, but as said by my friend who watched with me just now, is there like anything really new in the 3rd installment?

Still, it is great to watch, and it is sitting on a great / high expectation. Let's see if America is buying.

just finished watching the show abt slightly over an hour ago...

enjoyed it much but damn! my expectation of the movie was over the roof.. hence even though it was great, it didnt surpassed my expectation.

Going to see it remastered for IMAX whilst over in Canada, next week.
Not sure what to expect.. Need to catch-up watching the first two, before-hand !oops!

Hope its worth watching!

I was hoping that Spider-Man 3 to be the winner among the 3 most anticipated sequels this month - Shrek, Pirates and Spidey. Yeah, like you, perhaps I had expected too much from this movie. Pray that America is loving this more than we do.

i'm expecting it to be about the same as the other two. i thought they were both good. i don't know if i'll see it this weekend or wait another week or so. i can't decided. i don't like crowds.

I can't wait... me, the bf, and my parents are going to go see it. Am I expecting anything new.. not really but am I going to see it anyway.

I watched this movie in cinema last night, as China reached 2nd May earlier than the US, so I think it was released earlier here than it was in the US.
I'm not disappointed in this movies, it is as good as I've imagined. I think that will be the problem if Sam Raimi still wants to make sequels.
The love story is a little too ordinary and blah.

I don't know. I thought it was the best out of all of them. Sure, at times it was a little cheesy and predictable, but what do you expect? It's an action/comic book film. The visual effects were amazing, of course. The acting was alright. It held my attention for the 2 hours it was on the screen. I'm happy.

Oh, and I don't think the fact that Tobey Maguire isn't attractive and James Franco not getting enough screen time are reasons for a movie not being good. It's not like you go to see Spider-Man to get off.

On the contrary, I was really enjoying my time having an almost full blown screen of James Franco's handsome face, and I kept recalling his hairy butts in the teen movie, whenever his face popped up.

The good news is that Spider-man 3 is breaking records in the east and europe. Let's hope it holds up in America.

Thoughts on the film:

Enjoyed it overall.

Too much thrown at us--too much villain action with not enough villain development.

Too much debris and too many obstacles in the fight scenes--hard to follow what was happening a lot of times, as opposed to the first two films.

Too much crying--was there anyone in the main cast who did not cry? We dubbed it Emo-Spiderman.

James Franco was great--and looked great too (shirtless underwear scene--sigh).

Kirsten Dunst did a great job portraying Mary Jane's angst, and I usually don't enjoy her much.

Sandman pulling himself together the first time in the pit was beautiful.

Oscars should be given to creators of trailers--Harry Potter, Pirates, and Fantastic Four all look amazing from the trailers.

One of the most eye-catching and distracting opening credits I've ever seen...I don't know that I saw a single credit as i watched the scenes from the first two films.

More flawed that the first two flicks, but still very enjoyable, and better than most of what has passed for mainstream film so far this year.

I agree on the first part. With everything going on it was hard to grasp one thing before we were thrust into the next. I don't mind the lack of villian development because we knew basic motivations. Harry had been around for a while so what else was there to know? Sandman and Venom are obviously still alive and Venom will obviously be back so there's more time.

OMG I KNOW! I always wish in films like this for more action but Spiderman had so much, more than enough really. They do love their falling junk don't they, lol.

That's funny because we talked about that on the way home from the movie. The girls with us were laughing because they thought it was weird all the men were crying, lol. I'd say Emo Spiderman is about right.

Could James have been any hotter? He's never looked so good. I agree abotu Mary Jane as well, I actually liked her this time around. Although I agree with those critics on her singing, lol.

Harry Potter-yes. Pirates....eh. Fantastic Four-definitely not. They didn't even show the full trailer for some reason. And what the hell was that movie with the painter and the war and all that 60's shit? People were actually going 'eww' afterwards.

I agree. It was long too but didn't feel like it all. I actually loved every bit of it, even though it was predicatble a lot of the time and definitely not as great as Spider-Man 2. It'll still sell like crazy though.

Now, when can we make predictions for Spidey 4 plots?

I just saw Spider-man 3 ..I like it it was reallly good ..It did have so funny parts too the movie..

I thought it was a good movie but I agree that they tried putting too much into one movie and did get cheesy in some areas. I know some of the fanboys are slamming the film for all the crying and lack of Venom.

BTW, dosen't James Franco have a sexy smile.:luv:

best part was at the french restaurant with bruce campbell as the maitre'd. haha that was the funniest, campiest moment in the movie. the movie was incredibly predticable and extremely bloated on effects. the dialogue seemed a bit forced at times as well. Overall nowhere near as strong as the second film.

That restaurant scene - I was ok with Bruce's part. But I thought the script was weak. Mary Jane entered upset. Peter saw Gwen. Gwen kept feeling up Peter, which should not be, as Gwen should be having the hots for Spidey.

And I thought Gwen giving the 'award' to Spidey was weird. Yeah, she was the victim saved. But until she looked like she had the stage all to herself?

Rottentomatoes is revealing problems with Spider-man 3. It is not as hot as the 1st 2.

I was disappointed but then I was never a big fan of the first two films. It was too long and sagged in the middle. They could've cut a lot out and made a better paced movie. It was very cheesy especially Peter strutting down the street and dancing in the Jazz club. There was definately too much crying at the end but I'm glad they didn't set it up for a fourth film (although Sam Raimi claims there's a script). I still think of them more as kids movies than Burton's Batman movies and Batman Begins.

Spiderman 3 sucked! The action/cgi shots were astounding but the story line was complete crap. When he turned into "bad" spidey I laughed so hard because it was so cheesy! That was what killed the movie for me. It was only okay before that. Also Sandman was total crap. I was ridiculous how they completely over did his size! Did anyone else notice at the end when he blew away by the time he flew off into the distance the sand was like a mile long and a couple stories in height?

But wouldn't Sandman, when he turns to sand, be a mile or so long. Since sand particles are so small and all... just saying.

Also, the musical about the 60's was Across the Universe, the musical with nothing but Beatles songs. I'm actually really looking forward to it. And oddly enough, ALOT of people applauded after the preview. Then again, they did that for every preview, haha.

Is there any way this thread's subject line could be changed to indicate that there are indeed spoilers in here? We've gotten into territory that would give stuff away for people who are just tuning in to check members' reviews.
