(Spoilers) Stay Away, CloverField made no since

Well I don't know about that. They're a close group of friends & one of the friends has the alleged love of his life trapped in a building during a giant monster attack where everyone is evacuating the city, so he decided to go back for her. In times of crisis friends tend to stick together

(which is one of the themes in the movie "Who would you go back for?") See commercial here:

Rob is only the "dominant friend" to us, the audience because he's the only character we follow from beginning to end. If it was Lily or Hud's party then they probably would have done the same.

And Lily was also pretty adamant to follow on with Rob in his search for Beth after the bridge scene where they lost Jason & they were all on the street...Rob wasn't the only one calling the shots

One word. Sequel.

Now according to speculations on the internet (lol, reliable, I know). At the end, if you look closely in the background, you will see something falling in the water as Beth and Rob are on the ferris wheel. Second, there's something about the audio in the credits where one can hear "I'm still alive"

I am seriously waiting for a sequel. Or at least some internet mini movie released to answer everything we need answering.

Overall, it was a great movie. I felt ripped off when I walked out of the movie, but after thinking about it, it's very well done. I just wish Hutz had a more stable grip on the camera, but that wouldn't have been realistic. And it's sad that I didn't feel connected to any of the characters except for Marlena because of her quirkiness.

My premise for the second movie would be another person with a camera, Hutz can't be the only person in Manhattan filming this crazy event.

This is from Wikipedia.

At the premiere of the film Matt Reeves talked about possibilities on how a sequel will turn out if the film succeeds. Reeves states,

"While we were on set making the film we talked about the possibilities and directions of how a sequel can go. The fun of this movie was that it might not have been the only movie being made that night, there might be another movie! In today’s day and age of people filming their lives on their iphones and handy cams, uploading it to youtube…That was kind of exciting thinking about that.[54]

There's a moment on the Brooklyn Bridge, and there was a guy filming something on the side of the bridge, and Hud sees him filming and he turns over and he sees the ship that's been capsized and sees the headless Statue of Liberty, and then he turns back and this guy's briefly filming him. In my mind that was two movies intersecting for a brief moment, and I thought there was something interesting in the idea that this incident happened and there are so many different points of view, and there are several different movies at least happening that evening and we just saw one piece of another."

Reeves also points out that the end scene on Coney Island, shows something falling into the ocean in the background."

Re: (Spoilers) Stay Away, CloverField made no sinc

Technically, Rob saves the day. He saves the girl and they get back to safety. They are leaving in the helicopter.

It's not his fault that the chopper pilot decides to fly right over the monster while it's being bombed. Would that be standard protocol, to fly right over an area where a bomber is making its run? Even Hud asks if the bombs are going to hit them.

Rob is a hero. Lily is a hero. Their saving of Beth isn't made any less heroic because of what happens at the end. It simply makes it tragic.

I pray to God that if I'm ever in any kind of natural disaster and trapped in a situation that is still potentially dangerous, that the people who consider rescuing me don't punk out out of fear of what might happen to them.

And I hope if I ever find myself in such a situation, I have the balls to take the chance to save a life.

Well if you really wanted to get technical none of them would of survived that helicopter crash at all.

NONE of them.

Sure they would, EP, because they were wearing their magic seat belts. Just like Beth had the magic shoulder wound no one ever dies from in movies. ;)

So damned nice to see you around more, by the way, Bud.
