In an effort to continue expanding my musical collection, let's all share ONE artist or band with each other.

Maybe providing a link to their website, myspace, or a youtube video would help entice us!

Please, for the love of God, only post about ONE artist or band.

I'll go first.

I'm in love with Imogen Heap's work. So much so that she has moved into the highly coveted position of Brijan's Second Favourite Musical Artist!

And now, a youtube moment, brought to you by: youtube.
(As I've already posted Headlock, I opted for Say Goodnight And Go this time.)

(Oddly enough as I started to type this iTunes decided to play one of her songs! How fitting!)

Within Temptation, a great symphonic metal band (don't automatically assume that metal = just death grunts and loudness - it's symphonic, lol ;)) from the Netherlands that's just starting to get international exposure (they've been known in Europe for some time now).

Here's one of their videos, Mother Earth:

btw, I really liked that Imogen Heap song:-)

Right now my fave artist is Ari Hest.

Initially I stumbled on him by way of those periodic e-mails I get from iTunes. His picture was off to the side and since I thought he looked pretty good, I clicked it and came upon his music. He struck me as a great singer/songwriter with a great voice and some well crafted numbers. Great stuff! He has a new album out that I need to go look for... Anyhow, I'm posting one of my favorites that he put out a little while ago.

You're officially invited to my place to listen to my Housemartins/Beautiful South collection!

How about little ole me? It just a starting thing and I don't have the tech to record a lot of stuff, but here it is. Please feel free to add me if you want (myspace).

:D

Brijan, I know I already said one, and I know there's a thread on her somewhere, but she is absolutely FANTASTIC.

Amy Winehouse - highly recommend her stuff!

OK, evidently my YouTube can't play embedded in threads. #-o

Brijan, little help? Could you link it for me?

If you click on the video, in your post, it will open a new window with the video at the youtube site and will play.
We're all good.

#-o (*8*)

AND, I might have to add another one (sorry Brijan, that's three for me!) ----

Led Zeppelin. Best band ever.

I suggest "Hey Hey," "What Is and What Should Never Be," and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You."

For me, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs can do no wrong. They're pretty punk rock/indie edgy on their earlier albums, and their newest one is more mellow, but still stylistically them. I love it!

Fever to Tell is my favorite album, followed by their newest, Show Us Your Bones.

This was their first single from Show Us Your Bones, called Gold Lion. The song isn't my favorite single, but my favorite single of theirs has a pretty distrubing music video, so I'll post this one, which is a great music video. Stylistically, they do all kinds showcasing mirth, aggression, heartbreak, etc. This video has a pagan, chaotic feel to it.
