Am I the only one that thinks so???

her head is always gonna be big for her body. her neck looks so thin and frail its gonna end up snapping holdin up that head of hers

I liked her look whens he was heavier. Her face looked more proportional.

I love Skeletor. Except in that episode when he and He-Man teamed up to defeat Shegora and then he turned on him. He-Man was willing to put their history aside and continue in a loving relationship, but noooooooo Skeletor had to be all "You saved me before from Shegora's trap, now we're even" He just never got He-Man the way Teela did. Sad, considering He-Man paid no attention to her.

I guess having a healthy heart and kidneys was more important to her than looking "nice" and "approachable" to people who don't like her anyway.

This post proves two things to me:

1) You really can't please everyone. She got nothing but ridicule and jokes when she was heavy--now she's mocked for being thin.

2) There are some people on this board who really can't deal with change.

Actually, I was never one of those people who made fun of Star Jones when she was heavy. I thought it was very mean of people like Conan Obrien to constantly make fun of her.
I don't know her personally, now that she lost all that weight she seems to have changed. And yes, she doesn't seem as 'nice.'
Good for her to be healthy though.

Ever since her wedding where she was all about the free stuff, I haven't liked her.

She can do whatever the hell she wants. I was just pointing out that whilst reading People magazine that a little light bulb went off and DING she looks just like Skeletor!

Agreed. I didn't know who she really was, and when I never thought worse of her for being heavy. I didn't even know she was made fun of. But I do know that whens he lost the weight and got a lot of press, the attitude I got from her was that she wasn't a pleasant person.

But regardless, I just don't think she looks good by comparison. Getting a gastric bypass doesn't ensure that she's any healthier, either.

Nutritional deficiencies

  • Hypoparathyroidism, due to inadequate absorption of calcium, may occur in over 30% [citation needed] of GBP patients. Calcium is primarily absorbed in the duodenum, which is bypassed by the surgery. Most patients can achieve adequate calcium absorption by supplementation with Vitamin D and Calcium Citrate (carbonate may not be absorbed - it requires an acidic stomach, which is bypassed).
  • Iron frequently is seriously deficient, particularly in menstruating females, and must be supplemented. Again, it is normally absorbed in the duodenum. Ferrous sulfate can cause considerable GI distress in normal doses; alternatives include Ferrous fumarate, or a chelated form of iron. Occasionally, a female patient develops severe anemia, even with supplements, and must be treated with parenteral iron.
  • Vitamin B-12 requires intrinsic factor from the gastric mucosa to be absorbed. In patients with a small gastric pouch, it may not be absorbed, even if supplemented orally, and deficiencies can result in pernicious anemia and neuropathies. Sub-lingual B-12 appears to be adequately absorbed.
  • Thiamine deficiency (also known as beriberi) will, rarely, occur as the result of its absorption site in the jejunum being bypassed. This deficiency can also result from inadequate nutritional supplements being taken post operatively.
  • Protein malnutrition is a real risk. Some patients suffer troublesome vomiting after surgery, until their GI tract adjusts to the changes, and cannot eat adequate amounts even with 6 meals a day. Many patients require protein supplementation during the early phases of rapid weight loss, to prevent excessive loss of muscle mass.
If she can stick to rigid dietary instructions by her physician to maintain nutritional input, then good for her. But otherwise, she's still at risk of being unhealthy, regardless of her 90% smaller stomach.

I think she looks like everyone else I've ever seen thats lost weight with gastric bypass. They just don't look well. Maybe it takes a few years for the fat they have left to redistrubte itself out. ??????
