Going tonight to see it with my roommate and then it's Margarita time. Anyone planning to see it this weekend?
 
I'm happy to be reading all the glowing reviews of this film.

I'll prolly try to catch it the first part of next week.

i saw it last night!

i'm seeing it again with some friends tonight!

and my mom said she wants to see it so i may see it sunday! :square:

i thought the movie was epic! great story, lots of cool visuals, tons of action and some great eye candy in the form of chris pine! :luv:

first off i am a die hard fan.

i've seen every single episode of each series and have seen every movie.

i read the star trek encyclopedia for fun.

i thought it was a brilliant re-boot. its in keeping with the spirit, the mythos of the original series. but there are elements that will probably upset purists because of the changes to cannon. i am not going to worry about them or what they think because as much as i am loathe to admit it, the series had begun to stagnate. it needed a good shot in the arm and it got it. and i would definitely recommend it to everybody, regardless of whether your an old fan or someone who's never seen star trek.
 
I noticed at metacritic that Roger Ebert gave one of the lowest ratings/reviews for it (2 1/2 stars). He baffles me. He usually loves all the movies that most others dislike. And he dislikes most of the movies that others love. Not that I consider him the final authority of movies.
 
The cannon that the series breaks was already to begin with ambiguous to anyways; so it's totally worth it.

The only true issue I saw was they way that the actors are just now sexy (instead) of interesting.

But, still, TOTALLY worth watching!!!

Just got back from seeing it, and it was fantastic. Like GL said, I'm sure some purists will find much to complain about, but I thoroughly enjoyed it ..|

A Co-worker of mine just email me and said the "Action" is awesome...I will deff check it out this weekend...William Shatner was on Oprah last year and PISSED that he wasnt called for a Cameo...

I was @ the barber earlier tonight and I i saw a preview for the Flick and I could have sworn I saw Tyler Perry in a scene? Was he in the movie?
 
I have been watching Star Trek for as long as I can remember. I loved the original series, I've read the books, seen all the shows, (Really didnt like Enterprise though). I just love Star Trek. My favorite series would be Voyager (Harry Kim, mmmmm) At the moment, I cant afford to see it. I'll probably wait until it's out on DVD and rent it on Netflix. I am going to try and avoid ALL spoilers. I want to be surprised.
 
I saw on Thursday during a special preview at my movie theater. Although I ended up getting a serious migraine about 1/3 in and so all of those flashing lights ended up making it worse...

Seriously though, how many times do they have to fight in front of a Sun?!

Damn! I didn't get to go! My roommate had kidney stones and all doped up on some kind of pain pill till he passed it. Hopefully going tonight.
 
i keep trying to download it off zshare but its sooo slow it quits halfway. looks like im not the only one :P
