Starbucks ripped me off

I went to Starbucks. They had a new Frapuccino flavour called Lemon Hibiscus. I thought it would be like the other Frapuccinos.

I paid $7 for some watery juice mixed with blended ice :grrr:

damn:cry:..........

Anxiety attacks? I thought you had a bad back?

I'll excuse your ignorance of my conditions only because of the fact that you have been posting here for only a few months.

My 'problems' are not a secret around here. Anyone who knows me well enough (and long enough) know very well that I have been suffering anxiety attacks for several decades and that my back limits my mobility. They also know that I am on a disability pension and that taking a bus to and from Starbucks is a healthy drain on my monthly budget.

To you, it's "Oh, pshaw! It's just a few bucks." To me, it's tomorrow's dinner.

Before you start jumping down people's throat for never having had an overpriced Starbucks coffee, perhaps you might ask, "Why not?"

Look Hunny,

If there was something wrong with the drink, you should have walked straight back in there and demanded your money back.

These corporate fuckers don't realise, it's the paying public who make their businesses a success and we're not going to settle for some cheap product that looks like it was fished from a toilet!

Just the fact that you made a conscious decision to walk inside and order something you already knew that you were going to be ripped off. I have not ordered anything from a Starbucks in YEARS! I refuse to pay $6 for a cup of coffee. I will pay $1.50 at the local Wawa or Quick Check for coffee and it is just fine. Oh yeah - and at those places the coffee comes in Small, medium, large, and extra large. I don't need to speak Barista to get a f'n cup of coffee - and that would be coffee flavored coffee thank you very much.

It could be the fact I lived in the Seattle area for seven years, but Starbucks is forever in my good graces.
I had a "date" with a guy and I suggested we go to Starbucks. It was his second time there. He was disgusted how sugary the coffee and cheesecake is. No wonder the U.S. is bringing the fatness over to Europe.

Re: Starbucks ripped me off

Alert the Media! Call the BBC! CBC! CNN!

Even Faux News! Get Geraldo to cover the story!

This is NEWS!
I DID!

The coffee is 3 dollars, not 7. Paws was exagerating with the price.
The Frapuccino tall is CHF 7.10, which equals about $7

I'm not the first person to defend Starbucks, but posts like this make me laugh. Ridiculous.

Actually gsdx YOU are the one who decided to throw your hat into the ring, when you had NOTHING of relevance to add to the discussion since you know NOTHING about Starbucks. So why don't you respond to one of the other threads instead where you can actually contribute?

I've never been in outer space, either, but I can enter a discussion about it.

So. . . Piss Off!

All you lovely fella's are discussing the price of a starbucks, more relevant would be what it does to your waistline and your health!

The coffee I would most likely purchase, IF I had the inclination to enter such an establishment would be one of their Cinnamon Dolci Frappuccinos.

One 24 fl.oz. contains 490 calories and 60 mg of Cholesterol, definetly not something they advertise!

All I can say is that their Public Relations Department are very good at their job!

You have no idea what the hell you're talking about. Try actually going back to a Starbucks and actually reading their menu. Coffee is NOT six dollars. Standard drip coffee will run you around 1-2 dollars, depending on size. Lattes around 3-4, because it is a LATTE made with ESPRESSO. Espresso is more expensive than drip coffee, this is common sense.

What is with the need for people to spout off complete bullshit concerning matters they obviously know little about?

Indeed. Not to mention that the labour cost for a latte is far higher than a drip coffee. Consider that it takes about seven seconds to pour and serve a drip coffee, and about half a minute to make a latte. Now, I know the difference seems trivial, but keep in mind that Starbucks serves over 40 million people a week, and then tell me that 20 seconds isn't a significant labour cost. Also, realize that the dairy in that latte is also expensive, the maintenance cost for an espresso bar is higher than a coffee urn, and the other ingredients in that latte like syrup and toppings also add cost to the drink.

Try living in the NY metro area - prices are higher.

Just let them talk hun. They will hate Starbucks no matter what.

Just the idea that it is a big corporation is enough for them to hate it. No matter what.

Of course, along with products from every single other company. That is not the fault of Starbucks.

As someone already pointed out however, detractors of Starbucks are generally stuck in their ways. However, I wanted the point out the absurdity in the claim that "coffee" at Starbucks approaches anywhere near $7.
