I am $65 Richer today by not buying Starcraft 2.

As a beta player and loyal blizzard customer I am really ashamed of this monstrosity they have just released. Blizzard has a lot of work ahead of them If they intend to salvage this franchise, but sadly I do not think they will be able to.

Blizzard has not produced an original idea in 7 years, often relying on sequels and expansions for WOW and completely forgetting how to create a decent game.

Whoever headed the development of SC2 should be fired, because they dont know what they are doing.

Blizzard is relying solely on its reputation now, and once thats gone, they will have nothing. The path to a ruined reputation started today, and as a long time customer of blizzard its truly a sorry sight. Blizzard has forgotten what made quality games, and has lost its way.

I've been enjoying the game a lot actually. But I'm curious to see what you mean by bombs? I've not heard any sales reports yet so I don't know how it's doing.

As a Protoss player...

I have to say I'm slightly pissed about single player campaign mode being split across 3 separate discs...

I'm not a great online player, so I get the most replay from single player campaign (or when I play with friends against AI), and the fact that I need 3 sold separately discs for the full single player campaign really makes me reconsider picking this up...

I mean, does Blizzard even need the extra money the 2 extra discs will make? I thought WoW expansions and memberships would give them more money then God...

Although I have no interest in playing it, I've heard nothing but praise for the game. What's so bad about it?

Blizzard's community (regarding WoW) is what's killing the games, not Blizzard itself.

Oh please, that's total exaggeration. Every gaming community has bad apples. They're not "killing" the games at all.

I'm loving the game...its just what I was wanting. Granted, it would be nice to have all three campaigns in one game, but I'm really having fun with the one campaign. I'm having plenty of fun playing small matches with my friends.

Amazon.com starcraft 2 rating:

5 star:
236
4 star:
38
3 star:
23
2 star:
44)
1 star:
218

Im just disappointed in blizz.

most of the one star ratings are from before the release due to the realid controversy.

Nobody gives a rats ass about Starcraft 2 anyway. RIP Blizzard? Hardly. WoW has cemented their status and if they never do another game again, WoW will keep their grandchildren's grandchildren's grandchildren still rolling in the dough. Not to mention Diablo 3 is going to be huge when it comes out. Starcraft and games like it are long gone.

Looks like it's doing pretty well to me.

computergames top selling charts for july, PC North America: 1. Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty (Blizzard), 2. Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty - Collector's Edition (Blizzard), 3. Starcraft Battle Chest (Blizzard), 4. World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade (Blizzard), 5. World of Warcraft (Blizzard).

I don't know what he is talking about either I'm extremely pleased with the game.....and the campaign is really really well done.

Not to mention Blizzard = Activision = Call of Duty.

Blizzard will be fine.

Of course PC magazines will lick blizzards balls even if the game is poor. Nobody who writes those reviews actually has time to play every single game that comes out long enough to notice its huge flaws. How can you rate a game where its lifespan is decades, not weeks like console games?

Blizzard will dominate the PC sales charts because there are only 2 companies that publish pc games anymore, EA and Blizzard. When you have no competition for PC games of course anything new Blizzard releases will sell. So being atop the sales chart doesnt say much in the PC world.

But as of this posting, Starcraft 2 still has an average rating of about 50%, which is the lowest of any recent blizzard game. Less than half the people rated Starcraft 2 better than average, which is pretty pathetic. So I am hardly in the minority here.

But if people are led to believe the game is awesome, and are happy to pay money for it, don't let me ruin it for you, they are just buying too much into hype and trends.

Oh I get it, liking something you don't HAS to mean we're sheep! :D
