Hey all! I don't post here often, but I read here every chance I get... I was just wondering if any of you all are in the Starcraft 2 beta or are going to get starcraft 2 once it comes out? It'd be nice to have some people to AT with or play practice 1v1 matches with to get better! If interest, my name is Ruukdahl.ruukdahl on beta!
 
I am not in beta, but i hope to get the game when it comes out. i might have to build a new computer but i've been considering that for a while now. lol

so what do you think of it? is it the same game but with better graffics? i still play starcraft 1 but not very often.
 
Aw man! That game is the only reason Im gonna get a new PC. I love being the Zerg:D
 
Currently playing the BETA and it's fabtabulous! Oh and Mike...I want the key back to my TARDIS by 10:00 tonight...SHARP! No more trips or freaky Dalek hookups either damit!
 
I think the beta is great! It's almost good enough for release IMO. They may need to make a few balance changes, other than that it is great! Medic, Marine, Medivacs is a little OP in some situations. You just have to know how to counter it. I'm a Terran player btw, I'm not that great though heh.

Not only does it have better graphics, it still has the star craft feel to it. I do miss some of the old units, such as the vulture and the reaver. If they have the clan option in retail, we should make a JUB clan :P.
 
yeah i hate the medivac as well ;)

and I also hate that even though I only play in the amateur league there are almost only pro players ;) well i guess mostly the freaks are playing right now and after release this will even a bit more out
 
Yea, I'd say give it a week or so on beta and it'll even out a little bit. It seems a lot of people are still bouncing around in leagues until it evens out... hopefully....

Are they still giving out beta keys with preorders?

I'm surprised about the July 27th release date... A lot later than I was expecting. ATM, sc2 seems pretty balanced. But, I think once again battle.net 2.0 is probably holding it up along with a few little balance problems and maybe single player? What do you all think of the release date?

Not sure, I wasn't entirely looking into the Beta key. Maybe I should.

In any case, I though the new July 27th release date was ridiculous, considering I've been hyped up on 3 other past release dates. Hopefully they'll stick to this one, considering it's been officially released for some time now.
 
I've actually got a beta key but can't use it cos I'm living in university halls and they just don't let you torrent stuff - which is what all blizzard downloaders do. Sucks, but I'm going home soon anyway so I can download it properly there.

I have however been playing a crack of the beta for a while. It's not up to date with the patches, and it's quite annoying and cumbersome and you can only play against AI, but if you're desperate you can play all you want. Here's the link that told me how to set it up and stuff:

OK apparently I can't post URLs til I've got 25 posts, so I split it up and you just have to copy and paste the 4 separate bits together (in the order they are now).
 
^ sorry, although the beta client is indeed a free torrent, cracking it is illegal/piracy and thus not allowed to be posted here.
 
i really dont like starcraft 2. Probably because i am so used to warcraft 3 and RPG, starcraft 2 doesnt have any of that.

if i do get sc2 it will be to play non-ladder custom maps.
