Stargate Atlantis: Season 4 (Open Spoilers)

the box set looks cool will have to grab it when it comes out here

although i am a little dissapointed that Stargate [STRIKE]SG1[/STRIKE] I mean Atlantis appears to be having sg1 a bit too much hopefully it works but i dont want Stargate SG1 live from the Pegasus Galaxy

>>UPDATE<<

Updated the initial post to include the newly released title of the season finale, The Last Man,which will air March 7th, 2008 in the United States.

Special thanks to springboksfan for the post edit. :D

Iv just watched some of the clips for Atlantis S4, cant wait for the whole eps:gogirl:

I like Atlantis, it's what got me started watching SG-1. I didn't really watch before that. then it went and got canceled. I have seasons 1-5 of sg-1 on the computer and 5-10 on DVD. i haven't gotten caught up with season 3 of Atlantis because i cut my expanded cable back about a year ago, and lost scifi channel. so...i'll have to just be a season behind or download them. not sure which i'll do, probably just wait and buy them. right now they are just a bit high at 44 bucks a season at best buy. i'm hoping wal mart will have them soon.

I hope everyone in the U.S. went out and bought their Atlantis Season 3 box sets and David Hewlett's A Dog's Breakfast today! I know i did! *looks at DVD wall*

And now for the :(... While the season 3 set has commentaries for 19 of the 20 episodes, none of the actors are in any of the commentaries this season , what a disappointment. I look forward to actor commentaries the most... I hope they don't continue this trend.

Yay I watched S04E01. It was really weird having no sound effects or music - makes me realise how hard acting must be.

I have to say it wasn't bad but not great (the SFX were brilliant though) but I can't wait to see S04E02 cos there's some big stuff happening in it :D

I think I'll wait for one with all the sound though ;)

NO Spoilers PLEASE!!

And Don't get me started on that... I hate the fact they were leaked, pisses me off really. Not only did people get to see it before the premiere (meaning less people will actually watch it on TV), but they got the crappy prescreen versions. WTF was SCIFI thinking including those in their press releases!??!! UGH!!! ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

And just as a note, i haven't downloaded them, nor do i intend to, i don't want to ruin the season premiere by watching those versions, nor do i want to detract even more from the viewing audience the show depends on to function. No watchy live on TV = No more show.

Err, you know Season 3 came out on DVD today? It's $34.99 at Best Buy, and $32.99 on Amazon.com. Someone needs to read the first post in this thread! ;)

C'mon c'mon share the joy - rip it into avi and mp4 format and upload it to ********** and onto Demonoid

Sorry Noels! You know i love ya (*8*)! But I think you and i differ on our views of torrents here. People may call it a double standard on my part, and i'm actually fine with that, because in a way it is. But if it's a show i REALLY like, and support, and especially if it's in trouble, i can't support putting torrents up of it. If you really like the show, i belive you should buy the DVDs to help support it.

Now let me say, i don't have a problem with torrents. I don't think it's bad if you want to use them to check out a show and see if you like it, or if you want to have it on your computer. But i do belive people should support the shows they like, and help them continue to be produced by tuning in every week on TV, and buying the DVDs, otherwise there's no reason for studios to make the shows we love.

And i vehemently distain leaking episodes with torrents before the episode has aired on TV. I have no problem if people put them up after they've aired, but before? That's not cool with me. :grrr:

Ok, so now that that rant is over...

The DVDs are pretty cool. They reused the menuy design from the season 2 dvd's, but shifted the overall color hue to green instead of blue, and of course they have new cutscenes in the menus. The discs are printed nicely, but they seemed to have tried to cut some $$$ by not printing anything for the inside of the DVD cases like they did for seasons 1 and 2. The Digital transfers are flawless that i've seen thusfar, and the sound is supurb. I'm only dissapointed that the actors aren't in any of the episode commentaries this year, i love hearing their takes on what went on when they were filming the episodes.

Here are a few screenshots of the DVD menues and such (which are animated):

I understand and respect your position proven - you know that I hope. I was just razzing you ;)

Those screen caps look fantastic - they'd make great wallpapers and screensavers. I've found it very hard to get really good scifi wallpapers and screensavers (for free).

Oh No, i know you were razzing me :), i was just putting my view out there, i know your opinion, you know mine, and we respect each other's views :D.

What is your screen res? Speaking of wallpapers...

In anticipation of tonight's fourth season premiere of Stargate Atlantis, Yahoo! TV has released a brand new preview video.

The video features clips from tonight's "Adrift," and original interview snippets from actors David Hewlett ("Rodney McKay") and Rachel Luttrell ("Teyla"), as well as executive producers Paul Mullie and Joseph Mallozzi.

"It's definitely been a season of change," Hewlett says, "and it's really interesting to see how those changes have affected the way we work together -- or the way we don't work together, as the case may be!"

The video looks at the addition of Amanda Tapping and Jewel Staite to the show, the new and darker direction for Teyla, the addition of a new race, and the return of Dr. Carson Beckett.

Visit Yahoo! TV to see the video, and watch out for a few spoilers for what's to come.

Season Four of Stargate Atlantis premieres tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific (9 p.m. Central) on SCI FI Channel in the United States!
