Stargate Atlantis: Season 4 (Open Spoilers)

at the end of the last episode .. what kind of test result do you think they were talking about?

Do you really want me to tell you or do you want to wait until this week's episode to find out? ;)

If you really want to know, open the spoiler tags, if not, you'll find out in the next episode. :D

Teyla is pregnant. Coincidentally, so was Rachel Luttrell (the actress who plays Teyla) through most of the filming of season 4. Which obviously helped in the making of Teyla being pregnant. How, why, when, where, and "who da baby daddy" are still unknowns, and it has been suggested that da baby daddy may not necessarily be the Athosian man Teyla talked about having a relationship with in 'Missing'.

Oh, and Rachel gave birth to a healthy baby boy last month, just a couple of weeks after David Hewlett's (Dr. McKay) wife gave birth to their son. And of course Jason Momoa's (Ronon) girlfriend gave birth to their first child a short few months ago as well. Something in the Lantean water? You decide.

ah well i looked. and i was right. i thought about it because of the "certain" athosian guy - but the doc confused me since she made up another reason for her staying there.

Hehe, as if you guys wouldn't peek ;). Doc Keller made up the concussion excuse so the others wouldn't find out, but so that Teyla would stay and rest.

More info:
Obviously the decision to make Teyla pregnant was written in to account for Rachel's pregnancy, but it also became a stroke of good luck that will add to an overall Teyla story arc this season. Before they even knew Rachel was pregnant, the producers had decided that Teyla was going to have a larger story arc this year, ala the missing Athosians. That story will carry out through most of the season, as will, obviously, her pregnancy.

There's a lot of speculation online, but most of the consensus is that if the father is not that 'special' Athosian guy Teyla was talking about (whom Teyla will probably assume the father is), it might very well be an engineered pregnancy, something perhaps done by Michael (the Wraith) in the episode last season when he briefly capture Teyla. As for where Teyla's people are, or if they are alive, there have been very few hints out there, it's been a closely guarded story line. Again though, the leading theory is Michael. Specifically that he took them to experiment on them as part of his ongoing efforts to create a super-soldier army of his own. Why Teyla's people? Because he blames Teyla for her role in what happened to him, so what better way to get back at her while fulfilling his need for subjects to experiment on. But again, all speculation, and completely unfounded, as there have been no leaked clues as of yet.

hey!
I finally caught up! I am a fellow gay geek stargate atlantis fan! I have to say I lurve Rodney and I lurve John... they are so hot together... toss in Carson and Lorne and it would be a hot foursome...........

Oh and I am loving not just more screen time for lorne(dead sexy he is) but Radek...he is soo ocute in a geeky way!

Oh and proven logic do you read alot of slash? thats how i got into stargate atlantis... I liked sg1 before but jsut enjoyed it wasnt a huge fan. At the beginning of this year my friend asked me to read over her slash stuff for sga.. i got hooked, and so now read alot of slash and look forward to sga.

And I think the season overall is quite good this year. Really great quality episodes and great character moments, there seem to be more of it this year. I have to say I really liked Tabula Rasa and Doppleganger, awesome episodes and yeah there were some mcshep moments there(remember how devasted Shep was when it was announced Mckay was dead? Shep seemed to totally destroyed by that). I have to say though that Reunion and Travellers were more misses for me, but there were great stuff in those episodes(teyla's eyeroll!)

I am a Carson/Weir fan and sad to see them not involved in this year's season I am hoping they come back in Season 5 in at least a recurring character capacity. I enjoy Carter I think she has got some wonderful momenets and Keller(I am a firefly fan so i am biased).

OH and slashy moments... in Lifeline, that bit about penetration of that forcefield John and Rodney... that was soooo obvious... oh and I loved it when rodney made a comment about kissing when John was landing Atlantis....

It sucks now that I have to wait another week before more sga but oh well!

i think i like Dr Weir more as leader than Sam Carter. Sam doesn't seem to do much.

and Dr Weir was such a dyke, wonder why her marriage didn't work?

sga is back soon or nowish *cough*preair avaliable*Cough*

the fist episode looks(is) good umm:cool:

errrrrrrrrr wtf

why on earth (or atlantis) did they remove carter :( ?

i was confused about that as well .. i *hope* they just put the other guy in her position to get him killed ASAP

Honestly she didn't seem right for the role for me she really seemed wrong in that she basically had weirs part yet she is not weir in sg1 she was essentially rodney but in atlantis she dosen't really chime in with ideas even when she is standing there it was like she was not herself

let see how the doctor does shall we ;)

meh .. i like the actor .. but i totally hate the SG character :(

oh and when is the airdate so we can stop the
ing ;) ?

I do like Sam, but she just didnt fit. I hate Picardo's character, but I like him. This could actually be interesting.

I liked how in this episode there was much less of the lameness factor that the Stargate franchise was full of since Richard Dean Anderson left.

Still this episode was not as good as an RDA Stargate episode.

what was with the massive pan out really strange choice and a huge waste of money that could be spent on other episode instead of cutting corners

^ lol yeah i thought the same .. that was for absolutely no reason, and didn't help the story at all
