I am really excited about the new Stargate iteration, and now they have the site up.

It is supposed to be more dark and gritty than the other Stargate franchises so that should be interesting.

The new Stargate look is pretty badass though.

Thanks this looks good. I love Ming Na And Robert Carlyle. Atlantis was almost unbearable to me because I hated Rodney.

From the promotional pics I've seen, Brian J. Smith is hoooot!
One more reason to watch, lol.

I didn't like Atlantis either. I would put it on the tv, then just randomly mute the tv and go online cause it bored me.

I did not like Rodney either---but Sheppard was so hot I still watched...while I had a tv.

I thought Stargate: Universe was supposed to be geared more towards a younger audience?

...Considering that their standard Audience is in its forties... I think they're aiming for the 20-35 group.

I think they're trying to capitalize on the success they had with Battlestar Galactica. That show was dark, gritty, well written, well acted and critically acclaimed. I personally can't wait for it.

I am so waiting for this.
And if they fuck it up, I'll become a murderer ;)

I am so loving this Sci-Fi shit...
Captain, the sarcasm detectors are off the charts!!!

Yay. I'm hoping that it's the opposite of BSG: Fun to watch and a story that actually works out....

Yeah, wow. Way to belittle the opinions of everyone who liked BSG, and at the same time assume that the current Stargate Writers are any better.

Don't get me wrong, I love Stargate but SG-1 season 9 and Atlantis season 2 kind of started a downward spiral in terms of writing quality IMHO.

Yeah, this SGU looks to have the stylistic reference of BSG but then again, all we have to judge of the show so far has been a 2 minute clip. Season 5 of Atlantis is on my coffee table and I can't wait to go through it. Sheppard is an OK-looking, doable kinda guy. The only person in SG that I thought was super hot was Michael Shanks aka Daniel Jackson. Talk about hunky hot gay nerd.

I agree that he is hot but I thought his character's scruffiness looked to calculated. "I don't shave everyday and my hair is messed up. Ain't I a rascal!"

Dude; it's a forum. Unless specifically directed at you, all opinions are exactly that: Opinions. I don't like BSG because everything had a price, and it was just annoying that the writers felt it necessary to club the themes into everybody's heads. I don't mind dark, but that was ridiculous. And no offense, but if you're taking offense at someone not liking your cherished series, you may want to go back to the kiddy pool. If you can deal, however, then lighten up and hang on, 'cause it can be a fun ride!

On the other hand, I liked Season 9 simply because they attempting to have this cosmic storyline while doing more personal stories. I just don't see O'Neill's departure as necessarily a bad thing (someone was going to eventually leave the show, so it wasn't a major surprise). And, yeah Atlantis Season 2 was poor; however, they did get better. And I think that Rodney, annoying as he was, was probably one of the fun characters on the show.

I'm sort of curious where they're going to take the show. I'm just hoping that they don't go too dark; it may sound like fun, but it can get annoying after a bit...
