It's kind of an inside joke.

A couple of years ago I took a friend of mine from Czechoslovakia to this fair.

He was really surprised by some of the offerings for food, and made the comment, "I bet we could sell fried butter on a stick, and someone would buy it!" :D

So when I invited GL, I told him that maybe this year they might be selling fried butter on a stick. ;)

Is anyone else from JUB gonna be at Dallas Pride on September 21?

Because I am.

I won the "Win a Trip to Dallas" contest sponsored by the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau. It was promoted in a variety of gay media, especially online - and they chose me!

The package includes flight, accommodations, and tickets to Gay Day at Six Flags Sat. 9/20.

I did visit Dallas for the first time last December, and liked it. I'm taking a friend who has never been there.

Anyhow, if you're going to be in Dallas that weekend, let me know... a private message here might be better than a reply to the thread.

I won a trip to New Orleans once for being the winner of "name this bar" contest.

Of course the trip was scheduled for during August. :eek:

I swear you can cut the air in front of you with a knife.

98 degrees, and 98% humidity tends to give Bourbon Street in the French Quarter a wretched smell that time of year. :help:

So I spent most of my time in my hotel hugging the A/C, and tempting myself not to break into the "mini-bar." :lol:

I don't know if the Northern Wisconsin State Fair is worth traveling that far for... :lol:

I still want to get people up here to go to the Dells, though...

Been to the Dells, and the last time that I visited they weren't offering anything "fried" on a "stick." :badgrin:

Lot's of canned goods in a jar though. ;)

I have never considered parmesan as a cheese to "fry."

The parmesan that's available to me doesn't melt very well, and it's always a little brittle.

So, yes Corny, if you've got a recipe then stop being a tease and share. :D

This is my recipe

Ingredients

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Pam

Directions

Spray small nonstick pan with Pam and place over medium high heat. When the pan is hot pour enough cheese to cover the bottom of pan. Cook until light brown on bottom. Remove; you can brown both sides if you want to; break into bite size pieces. These are great as a snack or added to a salad for extra crunch.

Hee hee! I'm having fun reading this thread. But, no, I can't change the dates of my prize trip to Dallas. I'll just have to scrounge for fried food delights on my own.

Or - hey - I am in the land of cheesesteaks and scrapple. I could have my own little unhealthy party.
