I can't tell if I have one. I have had unprotected anal sex about 6 months ago and nothing since.
There is a small area (a little smaller than a dime) on my penis that gets red when I touch it, nothing hurts or itches but its unusual. I have noticed that after I masturbate there is some redness on my urethra opening. Trying to self diagnose but no clue what it could be.

I'm not sure of any free std clinics in my area either, trying to be anonymous and discreet about this as well.

Sometimes if it's something that sounds obvious we ask that the person post a picture but generally, in cases like this, we're going to recommend that you see your family doctor.

There are three things that practitioners see all day: "colds", hemorrhoids and weird lumps/bumps/rashes. It's what we do.

It's unlikely to be an STD given that it has been so long since you had (ahem, unprotected) sex. But if it is an infection or some sort of lesion that needs to be treated, it will require a physical exam and a prescription.

If you don't have a family physician, we can probably find you a referral or you can lookup to see who is in-network on your insurance company's website.

This area is best described like the skin is raw. It goes away but like I said on the original post, it only shows up when I touch that area or have some sort of friction when erect.

Are you using a lube?

This is prior to any activity. Just touching that area causes it to look inflammed. I do not use lube when masturbating though.

There are some people who have a sensitivity to ingredients in some of the water-based lubes.

If you're not using a lube and it's not a friction burn that you see after you masturbate without lube, then we're back to having your primary care practitioner check it, give you a diagnose and to determine if it's something that needs to be treated.

I truely appreciate the responses, been freaking out for a while.

Any alternative to my general practioner?

A dermatologist or public health clinic.

I agree that you should see a doctor. But, since it does not seem to be a std, why not try some ordinary remedies first? It sounds like a contact dermatitis. Have you tried hydrocortisone cream (over the counter)?

I have not tried that.

Here is what I'm dealing with. It will look normal until I touch, then becomes red like in the pic. No pain or itching, I can't see any bumps although I constantly imagine I'm seeing something different each time.

The head becomes "splotchy" after I cum as well.

SO.......I was tested for HIV, gonorrhea and chlamydia. Negative for all but this redness is still present.

Have you changed any of your cleansing products, such as a different brand of soap, or washing up liquid?

Do you have any allergies that you are aware of?

I haven't made any cleaning product changes, no allergies except for bees and I haven't been stung lately lol

A dermatologist or public health clinic.

Since you have been given the all clear from the clinic, then a dermatologist would be the next step, as you seem unwilling for your primary care provider becoming involved.

What kind of work do you do? I am wondering if there might be some residual component from something that you handle that gets transferred to your penis.

I sit at a desk all day.

I have not been to another physician.

Meant to check back on this. I have gone to my GP and tested negative for herpes/ HSV2.
The doctor was not able to tell me what else it might be.

Have you seen a dermatologist? He definitely will know.
