Stephen King's 'It' Remake

I'm usually fine with remakes.. But this.. I just have to ask, why? The original was frightening.. up until the spider part. Meh.. I'll give it a chance. Just like I'm giving the Never Ending Story remake a chance.

There's a neverending story remake? (I almost types remix). Will the singer for the theme song make those "up in the air junior birdman" goggles with his upside-down hands for this one?

...I didn't love the first movie. the book was good though. i think i sold my copy in a garage sale years ago.

Re: IT the scariest tvserie ever 2009 Remake!

My favorite Steven King book.

but there's no way to do that book justice in less than about 8 hours. Sorry.. no way at all. It's a really long, complex, multi-level story. Two stories, really... happening 30 years apart.

yeah, several of his novels present that challenge, which is why I think a lot of the better adaptations of his stuff DO end up as miniseries.

Pennywise: "Oh, yes Georgie. They float. They all float down here.... And when your down here with me, you'll float, too!"

Georgie: "AAAAAGGGGHHHHH!"

That was the end of the conversation in the scene that that pic was from. Poor Georgie got his arm ripped off and he was dragged down into Pennywise's lair. Of course, that caused Bill and the rest of the Lucky 7 to chase after Georgie's killer.

Re: IT the scariest tvserie ever 2009 Remake!

Oh no they don't. It's been probably 25 years or so since I saw the original and I still stare down the shower drain before I get into it in case Pennywise is there waiting to get me. I am not watching this.

*hides under the doona*

25 years? The movie came out in 1990. O_o

The mini-series didn't do the book justice. Im glad they're doing it.

Any info on the cast yet?

I agree.

The Mini-series was alright and Tim Curry was great in the role, but you could compare his Pennywise to Jack Nicholson's Joker, he was far too comical and just like the mini-series he was not completely faithful to the source material

I would like to see more of the background of Derry and its obscure relationship to "IT" being focused on, I found it to be one of the creepiest things about the book. Another one of the best elements from the book that I really hope they can get right is the entire Ritual of Chud chapter. The Turtle, the Deadlights, everything about it made for highly engrossing fiction.

As much as I would love to see "IT" remade, I just think it is one of those books that can never be turned into a feature film properly.

Anyone who was terrified from the mini-series but has not yet read the book should really pick it up... it puts the mini-series to shame.

I couldn't finish the book to be completely honest. But I wish they'd go into more detail with the gay character LOL

That kid was a sicko and I'm glad that he met his fate at the fangs of pennywise.

On a lighter note, 'IT' is full of so many peculiar rituals that the characters perform and go through. The smoke visions, The Ritual of CHUD, the fashioning of the weapons. I really hope that they will try and capture them all. And I hope that they include ALL of the battles they have with Pennywise. The fact that they left out the first battle in the abandoned house really pissed me of!:grrr:

The list of what should be corrected with this remake that the Mini-series screwed up is endless. With that in mind, this film will be esoteric and I couldn't be happier lol

There was a gay character? He must not have survived the transfer from the page to the mini-series.

meh...horror movies today are mostly gore porn, super sex movies today

I'm sure the new Pennywise will show him eating a baby and actually raping the kids or some nonesense
