OH MY GOD, this is the best insight to these types of situations. How I wish I had read this years ago when I was put through hell on a job by a manipulative so called "straight" dude. I was played and led on for his amusement. Another version of it had happened before on another job.

I had to learn the HARD WAY that there are straight guys out there who will aggressively go after gay guys but they do NOT have any intention in actually going through with it. The excitement for them ends with stares, grabbing, comments.

And the gay guy who is manipulated is left with, as you said, confusion.

Your advice is so worth reprinting every time there's a thread about a straight guy who is coming on to a gay guy.

Some of the reasons they may do it: Having power and control over someone. Or they have latent desires but lack the balls to really go through with it, so the play and the tease is the full extent of the sexual behavior. Or they want to confirm that they are attractive, so if you are handsome and respond to their (fake) advances, they feel better.

Bottom line is what I had to painfully learn: If they really wanted to get with you, they WOULD HAVE. I would give anybody a shot and if they don't make the move, then MOVE ON. Do NOT allow yourself to be manipulated. It's a long and painful ordeal.
