lol i notice that whenever a straight man wants to or gives another man a compliment he has to or follows up the compliment by saying "no homo".

I was with some friends the other day and i heard it for the first time.

My friend said to another "sweet 6 pac dude, no homo " lol.

I also notice that if a bunch of guys and one of them says something or does something considered to be gay one guy would call them out and say "that so gay or you gay, i knew you was gay" or thats " some gay shit right there" but even though they say that, they just laugh it off.

Its like they say it but they dont mean it.

Straight guys can be so weird sometimes.

If a guy wants to give another guy a compliment why does he have to defend his straightness by saying no homo.

The other day i gave one of the Fratmen a T-shirt from one of our sponsors.

I then gave a different one from the same sponsor to another Fratman, and the first guy said, "I like that one better.... this one's really gay".

Within two seconds I had back-handed him.

He looked at me with a look of shock and I said "Now, I KNOW that you didn't just say that in my presence, so I'm sorry for hitting you for saying something different."

I haven't heard "No homo" yet.

alot of strait african american brothers use that term that i have run across. I dont think they mean as much harm as it's overall effect causes.

they use it to clearly claim their straight status in a very homophobic community

I've never heard "no homo", but not uncommonly have heard, "Not like, gay" -- same disclaimer.

A couple of times I've had the urge to say, "Damn!" and maybe add, "Why not?" and look terribly disappointed...

... but in the places I've heard that, such a response could get me knifed.
