They HAVE offended the gay men in the room by saying that they "hate" it when guys comment on them. It is provoking an argument when you "hate" someone or a group of people before anything is done. I personally don't care, and I respect the guy even if the intent ISN'T sexual. Flattering comments never hurt anyone and to respond with negativity makes you look like a douche Some of these guys actually think women will respond to them (at least in the way they want), and I think it's somewhat hopeless and futile when about 80% of cam4's population is real men, and 30-40% are looking for the same thing. I'll say this, I've asked women if they actually cruise sites like cam4 to look for guys. Many said they were disgusted by guys showing their junk and not their faces first (lol)and most said only to watch there bf's/husbands/friends??. Why str8 guys think they're going to get action from women there is beyond me.

Gay viewers who deliberately provoke a straight broadcaster because they are annoyed at him, are jealous that he isn't paying attention to them, or don't approve of his manners make it more difficult for those who want to stay and chat.

You mean real-life action? Yeah, probably pretty hopeless, but in my experience most are only looking for C2C. I agree that most women probably wouldn't do something like that, but a few do, and that's what keeps many of the straight guys coming back.

Some do respond to comments either sporadically or regularly. It's a matter of finding the right cam. However, the popular guys are REALLY popular, and it's sometimes impossible just to keep up with the stream of comments, let alone respond to many of them. After a certain amount of time, even the most gracious broadcaster gives up trying to respond regularly because the comments just scroll by on an endless stream. By the time he types a response, the original comment has disappeared from view.

Also, remember that the broadcaster, gay or straight, may be chatting in a private message conversation or on another cam. If he's straight and chatty, and all of a sudden goes quiet after a woman comes in the room, that's probably what happened.

As for side conversations with other viewers, yes, they are rare. I think most people who stick around a cam long enough to have one are probably there because they want to watch the broadcaster, not have a chat with someone they can't see. I'd probably say non-sexual chats happen more often than you think. There are many non-sexual chats going on at cam4 (especially with women and quite a few men, even when they are nude). Not quite true. I agree that banning men just because they say "hi" or even "nice body" is assholish behavior - although, again, it is his room, and he can ban anyone he wants - but ignoring the abusive ones is not as effective as banning. Some guys just can't take the hint and post comment after comment, often increasingly graphic and crude, despite being ignored. I've seen rooms all but taken over by a couple of guys who post 10 or 20 comments in a row. That's annoying to everyone, including other men who really want to have a nice chat with the broadcaster or even just watch. And, if the broadcaster has stated that he does not want to talk to men, or that he does not welcome sexual comments from men, it's rude to ignore that request.

Well, obviously the chances of a sexual encounter are 100% if you pay for it, but many guys don't want to or can't afford to pay for it. They want the woman to be genuinely interested in them, not just in it for the money. As for clubs, I'm not sure the odds are that much better, and going to clubs is expensive and time-consuming. And, again, many (maybe most) of the guys at cam4 are only looking for on-line encounters. They may be married or in a relationship or they just don't want the hassle involved with picking up a woman and persuading her to have sex. So C2C is a pretty good option. And it does happen, more often than you may think.

This is where the trouble lies. There ISN'T an easy way to get women to C2C if you're a complete stranger. Too many guys are on the site looking for an easy way to get off to LIVE WOMEN, but there are an overwhelming number of MEN!! The women they want aren't there!! If I were 100% straight and knowing that men are pretty much all that's there , I wouldn't waste my time and assume that only girls would talk to me cause THERE'S NOTHING BUT DUDES!! You, sir, are the Holy Grail for many of the gay guys who hang around the straight cams. They're hoping that the straight guy they're watching will turn out to be at least slightly bisexual and end up settling for a guy. I've definitely seen it happen, but more often the straight guys either give up and go off cam or decide to "finish" on cam even though no women are watching - but without interacting sexually with any of the men in the room.

A lot depends on whether they're only interested in C2C or whether they're willing to settle for chat with a maybe real but probably fake woman.
